Online ads rouse 33% hike in complaints

Colin Jackson

Hmmm

>Consumers expect the same levels of honesty and truthfulness online as they do in more traditional advertising media

No they don't. My gran might, but nobody else is that naieve.

Silas Humphreys

Actually, I expect the same amount of honesty online as off.

None whatsoever.

Anyone expecting otherwise is naive in the extreme...

Shaun

eh?

"internet adverts were second only to national press as the most complained about non-broadcast format"

So what does that leave?

Local press and billboards?

Internet adverts

Suppose when you buy a dead tree newspaper, you have to wait while the newsagent goes next door for the adverts. Which are on adhesive labels which he sticks at random over the text on the newspaper. And the labels are hard to remove when you get home and try to read the paper.

A totally insane idea of course, so why is it done this way on .the Internet versions?
