    iSCSI

    iSCSI could be the spoiler in all this. Cheaper to buy. Cheaper to implement. But it's a fragmented market with many small vendors. That could change if any of the big players decide to jump in.

    EMC was one of the first companies to offer iSCSI - and all the other big vendors have been in the mark for a couple years.

    iSCSI is not the magic bullet people thought it would be - it's biggest consumers as small companies that are more cost sensitive and less performance & security minded
