    ‘NATO ministers get to grips with cyber defence’ Methinks, they are ill equipped to deal with that effectively, if at all. IT is a very ESPecialised Field.

    A perfect little junket for them to pontificate and strut their flunky stuff, though. Major Tom/ Spiders from Mars/ Space Cadet Territory actually. More ESA Noordwijk type Boffinry than NATO Defence Ministry war jaw jaw.

    I wonder what they serve with the coffee ..... Space Cake or Digestives Biscuits.:-)

    I wonder of anyone from Lockheed Martin will be there, pushing their Skunk Works Advanced Development Programs although in the Virtual Sphere, IT is most definitely much more IARPA than DARPA.

    Here we go again...

    This is John Hamre and Richard Clarke all over again... Flogging 'cyber defense' as a means for generating new budget- and empire-building opportunities. Please tell me at least that no one uttered that craptacular phrase "electronic Pearl Harbor." Also, no references to "Moonlight Maze? Please?

    Where's Red Adair when you need him.... ?

    "Flogging 'cyber defense' as a means for generating new budget- and empire-building opportunities. "

    But is that not exactly the Opportunity which has been made Virtually Real, M'Lud?

    And IT will do both of those tasks QuITe effortlessly. Some would even be as Bold as to Virtually Guarantee IT...... but for that Service it is necessary that one shows Initiative and Venture an Astute Deposit to an ESPecial Account. It can't disappear and is therefore a FailSafe Circular Inward Investment too which would Create a Stir of Interest in the Force and Shake AI Colossus into Life.

    First Come First Served is ForceFare and Fair.

    Will someone please extinguish those flames, don't you know that this is a Smoke and Mirrors Free Green Zone.

    there is a rumour...

    ... that one of the exam questions at the UK 2-star staff officers' course is: "Can you spell security?"

    Currently both simple, single word responses score +1 point, whereas a response of: "what's that?" scores -1.

    Awareness - of sorts.

    @there is a rumour

    Dave,

    Should that not be +10 for Awareness with the response of: "what's that"? It would be in non-secret steganographic encryption circles.

    "at the UK 2-star staff officers' course" .....Hmmm ...A quick flash of a camp military meet/military camp meet unsettled me for a moment there. Boys and their toy guns and all that stuff.
