    Many Sony formats don't fail

    These Sony things didn't fail...

    Compact Disc (sony/philips)

DVD (jointly with many other vendors)

MF2 (otherwise known as the 3.5" floppy disk)

Minidisc (it wasn't a huge consumer success but it was a big broadcast audio success)

The Aperture Grille CRT (Trinitron, to you and me)

    DVD+R, +RW

Blu-Ray (well it beat HD-DVD but some might say it just hasn't failed *yet*)

    Betacam (not betamax)

    Walkman

    Transistor Radio

    etc.
