What's a laptot?

Laptot doesn't sound particularly appealing.. regardless of the CPU used. Sounds like a toy doll that would just cry and urinate all over you, why does Intel think people would want this?

Personally I want something just fast enough to do the job. Give me lower and lower and lower power requirements over faster and faster and faster chips any time.

Exactly right... I'll almost always trade speed for battery life. How fast does it have to be, anyway? If you can decompress and display a film in real time, that's all that's needed for the majority of tiny portables.

Of course not. It's a typo. I'm just not going to fix it because that isn't what I do all day long when I'm not comment-wrangling.
Tsk.

AC1> "Give me lower and lower and lower power requirements over faster and faster and faster chips any time."
I'd settle for something that doesn't run so hot for my next choice (not surprised, or complaining, honest - my EeePC[701] has already proven useful at work when I'd only brought it in to keep myself amused on the train). This sounds promising.
[@Ed: WTF indeed. Did you not think to follow the search results that led back to El Reg for an appropriate explanation??!]

here's a leedle collection of (mostly reg!) stories about the little bloighters!
cheers,

Sometimes I think Intel is going to quantity not quality
#

So does anyone think Intel hasn't really bumped performance over the last year but is simply inundating the market with so many chips people will think, "They must be designing better stuff then AMD, in the last 6 months they've released 3 generations of CPUs!"
