    "...and in many ways irrevocably"

    Naaahhh, it's just a recession.

    Some readers might remember approx 1980 to 1985. Major unemployment, macro-econ reorganization, prices actually fell for a while! It was not the end of the world and it did not change the nature of capitalist economics. The current slaughter is no different.
