    Researcher? And there are many prominent females.

    Window Snyder has been many useful things as "Chief Security Something-Or-Other", but researcher is not among them, at least if you mean it at all in the sense that the scientific community does. In general, high profile information security researcher is a bit of an oxymoron for both males and females.

    But security, if not good, is mostly better off than the rest of CS in regards to gender balance. Some of the prominent (e.g., named chair professor) female security _researchers_ that come immediately to mind include Joan Feigenbaum, Lorrie Cranor, Dawn Song, Cathy Meadows, Birgit Pfitzmann, and Pierangela Samarati. That's a brief fairly random list. It would be easy to keep going, but you get the idea.
