I keep reading the headline as IBM to ship explosive removable drives. I wouldn't do so much percussive maintenance to old workstations and servers if the drives were made with RDX.
According to Wikipedia, RDX "burns rather than explodes and detonates only with a detonator, being unaffected even by small arms fire"
So if you want a hard drive that can hand a 9mm slug, this is just what you need.
