Pumping SSD
Let's get real here. TPC-H is a read-only workload -- this should have been a home-run for Flash SSD, since the benchmark barely ever writes anything. So, according to the conventional "wisdom" around Flash SSD, this system should have been vastly CHEAPER than HDD systems in terms of dollars-per-query-per-hour, yet it's not. It's more expensive. It was beaten by CHEAPER systems based on mechanical HDD and open-source my-SQL.
