Chris,
This story and the possible Joint Venture[s] which it explores is far too much like a Macro Application of what AMD are doing with "Bulldozer" on the Micro/NanoScale ... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/08/26/amd_smt/ ..... with Breakthrough Architectures capable of rendering to them both, what are PreEminent and PreDominant Lead Control Positions, with the MicroArchitecture Version the most easily stealthily embedded virtually for Global Domination of the SemiConductor Field.

AC,

You can do that by running on EMC Celerra NAS now.
Application / file server dedupe isn't as magic as backup dedupe - it saves 20-40%, rather than 80-95%.

@AC about Celerra NAS

You can't do that on Celerra NAS right now; it doesn't dedupe anything except file systems that have cold data. Not yer typical VM implementation, methinks.
