A major sticking point of Office rollouts

... is that the only official way of doing so, is by calling SETUP.EXE via a login script.

You can't do it via a Group Policy Object.

    I think you meant..

Other changes to App-V include the creation of a shared cache that multiple clients can use (i.e. share) instead of al machines running their own, individual cache. The shared cache is designed to reduce the amount of storage required and improve management.

    FAIL

The reason that there is delay in deployment

Is that they will not leave the VBA language alone from one version to the next. huge amounts of organisations did not move from 2003 to 2007 because their Excel macros don't work without changes. they chane syntax and methods without much care.

The leap from 2003 to 2010 is only going to be harder.

One day Msoft might figure out that they should leave this alone for a couple of versions t give major enterprises the time and budget to catch up!
