Relentless or what !
Wow those Oracle guys make the Israeli Defence Force look warm and cuddly :-))
$120 million in legal fees!! Those lawyers know a gravy train when they see one!!
Oracle just keeps rubbing it in with application software rival SAP over the TomorrowNow fiasco. In a court filing on Friday, which was reported by various news outlets (see here and there, Oracle has gone back to the US District Court for the Northern District of California in Oakland, where a jury just awarded Oracle a $1. …
Oh dear, how very revealing.
Oracle do not have the knack for making fortunes and have to rely on the money supply of other to keep Larry afloat, and in the lap of the luxury he is accustomed to ....... which is too much like a Ponzi Program to be anything different, surely?
It's an M&A.
It's about cash flow, revenue growth.
Who cares *how* they do their business (what business are they in again exactly?)
How exactly Oracle extrapolated $14m to > $1Bn (and got the court to *believe* it) is a mystery. Oracle didn't deserve to win but I'd say SAP did deserve to loose.
Our German friends have received a spanking worthy of the Moderatrix.
Oracle doesn't really expect the courts to award the interest unless there is something to show that SAP intentionally dragged their feet on this case.
Normally you'd see the interest awarded if SAP had appealed the case and lost the appeal. Then interest would be applied for the period of the appeal.
Since it appears that no appeal happened, then Oracle probably is using this ploy as a way to get SAP to pay out rather than appeal the decision.
That makes the most sense because if SAP were to appeal, it would mean that it could cost them more if they lose. If they win the appeal, then SAP would have to pay less and the 'interest' would be moot.
Oracle is best known for their 'smoke and mirrors' games along with having good lawyers.
