Storing all the personal details about your staff and your business operations in the cloud

Well, at least Sage is more likely to keep accurate records than is Prism.

So how are Sage going to keep company's data separate? Separate servers per customer? If so how are they going to have cost savings. Multi-tenant - new CoA or db redesign.

I reckon this will not work and yet another Sage fail

Some more detail on Windows Azure SQL Databases

Hi, I work at Sage and just wanted to clarify that each customer has their own database and they are isolated from a security and storage point of view. The PaaS nature of Windows Azure SQL Databases makes it easy to operate large numbers of Databases with very low operational cost and a high level of automation, flexibility and customisation. The Database is multi-tenanted in the infrastructure and compute tier, so each one may be hosted on the same physical SQL Server, however there is no way one tenant can access or view data from another tenant.

Frankenstein moves markets but probably not customers?

Yet another Frankenstein compromise. Maybe its a knee jerk reaction to the headline in the Evening Standard May 3rd “ City pours scorn on Sage for having its head in the cloud” New headlines about Sage 200 ‘in the cloud’ might be good for Sage stock price, but not so good for the thousands of businesses still using 20th century technology such as Sage Line 50 from a software giant that doesn’t appear to be able to innovate or keep up with what its customers really want - Cloud Cloud Cloud.....
