You seem to suggest that everyone has only had bad experiences with Windows. This is demonstrably not the case otherwise it wouldn't be the desktop of choice (yes, it still is) on the overwhelming majorit of PCs. I've had as many irritations with Linux, Windows and MacOS, not to mention Solaris, AIX and HP-UX over the years, you can't just single out one.
Anyway, these reports suggest that everyone with the Surface Pro 2 has the same problem, this isn't the case, I know someone who has one and he hasn't seen any of these issues.
Yep, I'm really upset that I have the benefit of a tablet, without the performance hit. That I'm getting more done in less time, and remaining wayyyy more up to date on my tasks because I have the flexibility to take it anywhere (the weight/size advantage over the laptop makes it stick-it-in-your-bag friendly) and so on.
An iPad or whatever might suit you, it certainly doesn't suit me.

What weight/size advantage? It's only marginally smaller and lighter than an 11" MacBook Air. And the MacBook gives you a screen that's 20% bigger, a keyboard suitable for adults, the ability to use it on your lap without it tipping over, and several hours longer battery life.
Not sure why you got a downvote for a simple statement of fact re: Microsoft's previous bits of simple hardware.
I use a microsoft comfort optical mouse, and have no issues at all with it. With the tablet of course it's likely they've cost-cut to the point it's become a problem, but the mouse, no issues at all (never had a Microsoft keyboard, I prefer model Ms :-)
A quick chat around the office and we're feeling somewhat neglected. Not only are our three Surface Pro 2 users all unaffected by the issue reported, they aren't being hounded by either of the iPad owners.
What should we do to get our piece of this action?
We do make the Blackberry user sit in a draught, though.
I rolled out a number of 64GB Surface Pro 2 devices across an office just before Christmas & not ONE of them was affected by the first firmware issues and I have had no calls since the second firmware was sent out. Possible that only a certain batch of these devices is affected by the firmware probs?
