    "If you have allowed Google to engage in the conversation before you get there then you are a little bit behind that eight ball and you've got a much higher propensity to lose,"

    So basically what is being said here is that if Google have had a chance to sell first, you have little chance of selling our solution after! That doesn't sound like confidence in the product and pricing to me!

      I think it's more like "If potential customers talk to our competitor first, they're more likely to be able to see through our disengenuous bullshit".

    He also seems to evade the point about his customers suffering from being shackled to Microsoft: "many customers' tech estates - as UK.gov is finding out - are "intertwined" with Microsoft" - this isn't a hidden cost of Google Apps, it's a hidden cost of having implemented Microsoft products in the past!

    Interesting, though, that it seems to be only larger customers who struggle to cast off those expensive shackles - and not a good omen for MS.
