    Don't worry, Cringely is on this

    According to Cringely's impeccable inside sources, EMC will be firing around 110,000 people. Since EMC only has 64,000 employees at present, it's going to make up the difference by firing several thousand people from H-P, NetApp, and Hitachi Data Systems.

    Probably 2000 layoffs

    Apply the usual rule-of-thumb, and that restructuring implies around 2000 layoffs at the upper end.

    Don't fire any EMC sales people

    How they are able to make a profit on VNX is beyond me. What a dog. They must be a talented bunch.
