    One of the most concise counterarguments against BYOD right there. The time and effort needed to manage and secure the hodgepodge of devices brought in by employees will far outweigh any potential savings to be gained by their use in the first place. The greatest cost of system ownership is typically the time spent administering the equipment and associated software. BYOD magnifies existing problems with dubious prospects for benefit*.

    * Unless you are an exec, in which case it is obvious that the short term gain of reducing equipment outlay is well worth the long term costs. That and being able to have the local PFY work on your computer and it be paid for by the company.
