How do you value counterfeit goods? At the price of the real thing? At the "back of a lorry" price they were being flogged at? The market price you'd get for them as not the real thing? Or do you just think of a nice round number call it job done?

Real reason?

Is the reason they were arrested that they were selling fake kit, or because by selling it the NSA didn't know to intercept it and install the government-mandated spy firmware, etc. that they've been inserting into "real" Cisco (and other) boxes?

I wonder what 'fake CISCO kit' is?

It might be a box with a Cisco sticker on it, but with completely different cheap low-quality insides.

Or it might be a Cisco unit made by the same factory which makes Cisco kit in China, but one which was made in excess of their order and then sold by the factory without Cisco getting paid a license fee.

Or one of several other combinations...
