"potentially compromising integrity and functionality including significant network outages”

Are they saying that "significant network outages" are part of the "functionality" that will be compromised?

    "significant network outages"

Ahhh...so *that's* where Virgin Media have been getting their kit from

"An estimated $1m (£656m) in suspected counterfeit goods was seized."

How do you value counterfeit goods? At the price of the real thing? At the "back of a lorry" price they were being flogged at? The market price you'd get for them as not the real thing? Or do you just think of a nice round number call it job done?

And one to keep an eye on two dangerous intellectuals

I wonder what 'fake CISCO kit' is?

It might be a box with a Cisco sticker on it, but with completely different cheap low-quality insides.

Or it might be a Cisco unit made by the same factory which makes Cisco kit in China, but one which was made in excess of their order and then sold by the factory without Cisco getting paid a license fee.
