First, fiscal 2016 revenues were down nine per cent on the year, at $139.1m, and down eight per cent …

    Not worried? They should be.

I do find it interesting that no one (publicly) seems worried about Veeam, who just keep winning customer after customer every month with some awfully good products and a refreshingly open management style. These wins can't all be first-time buyers.

Full disclosure - happy Veeam customer for the last two years.

    Reasoning

The question is, why was there such a major shift and transition in the sales organization? Veteran, experienced sales people don't forget how to sell. There are usually many factors involved...economic conditions, client buying cycles, budget etc. The need for solutions don't go away. However, many companies could care less about the economic and non-economic conditions that surround a buying cycle. All that's left by management is that "it is the sales person's fault". I am not saying that is the case here at Commvault, but having been in this game for 30+ years, I DO know what goes on. The question I'd be asking as an investor is why the turnover in the sales force? Cleaning house for whatever a reason is almost always never the right answer.

      Re: Reasoning

There has been a big issue with the way Commvault had set up its cost structure when they went from v9 to v10. From what I heard from the sales channel we dealt with it caused ALOT of issues and ALOT of confusion. They have apparently reduced the total number of SKU's to simplify the purchase process. I still feel they need to improve some of their pricing for long term customers.
