    And now we know why Netapp has languished for years

    A CTO with all the forward thinking capabilities of a bag of hammers. Only someone stuck in the past two decades of uninspired pedestrian storage development (aka the Netapp portfolio) would draw these conclusions.

      Would love to know which of his insights were completely ridiculous and which weren't, and what do you see in your crystal ball that he has gotten so clearly wrong to you?

      Perhaps not anything in his forecasting that was unexpected or exceptionally imaginative, granted. So what did he miss that's a gamechanger? Tell me more.

    No Mention of Erasure Coding?

    Seems a hot topic lately is Erasure Coding with Object Storage. We're looking at some solutions now and the technology is amazing. If works as advertised, it will be in many storage configurations for the foreseeable future.
