    Comply with the GPL in your already-established court case first, then you can worry about how to manage your other Open Source contributions.

      It is entirely possible that that's what this is about - they don't say that they want to contribute just that they want to figure out how to use open source (with a subtext of "without being sued").

      Embracing open source is just Simon's spin on the story.

        Agreed - nothing says VMware wants to contribute. But there are hints it is keen to do more. And also stronger hints VMware thinks the FOSS community is doing things it can learn from
