    "Strategic products include Clustered ONTAP, branded E-Series, SolidFire, AltaVault and optional add-on software. Mature products are 7-mode ONTAP, add-on hardware, and related OS and E-OEM products."

    YES - NetApp needs marketing to translate above jumble of products into something their partying sales teams can regurgitate in front of the customer.

    Most sales reps miss the good old days where Data Ontap would solve all the worlds storage problems - for which competitors required 3 product lines.

    NetApp now has 8 product lines. Congratulations.

    Let's hope NetApp won't confuse Marketing with Sales :)

          The first time NetApp Customer Success Services (a.k.a. NetApp Support) will learn about these new products is when customers call in and raise a support ticket.

          I've been told it's called Just in Time Competency.

    So if you want to store your Data on a Mature NetApp product you are best of staying on 7-Mode?
