    the existing 500Gb laptop drives out there, available today. Otherwise it would be newsworthy !!!

    Samsung already have a 500 GB 9,5 mm high drive. I've got one in my laptop - the extra breathing space is brilliant.

    Seagate's 500GB notebook drives (9.5mm) will follow the Toshiba 4Q 2008

    in 5400 and 7200rpm versions. The latter has 16GB of cache. Each is designed to withstand 1000g:
