What numbering system?
OK, so Microsoft has sold 40,000,000 copies of Windows Vista. Let's take that at face value. What wasn't mentioned was what number system was used.
4000 0000 base-16 = 1,073,741,824
40 000 000 base-10 = 40,000,000
40 000 000 base-8 = 1,048,576
40 00 00 00 base-4 = 262,144
