No-one would rather be out of work... Jeez. Only a true moron would say that!
Lets get straight to the heart of the matter. These (Fujitsu, HP/EDS) aren't companies in danger of collapse.
What we're seeing is corporate/shareholder greed taking advantage of the "economic downturn" as an excuse to screw some more cash out of the business by pay freezes/pay cuts/lay-offs.
This is one of the quickest ways for business to turn an economic difficulty into a full blown depression by taking cash out of the mass environment and putting it into the hands of the hoarding few.
