Sounds like a prime reason to ask your money back.
And sell the shares, get out of dodge, and so on and so forth. As a great management thinker said: It's not about profit maximisation, in fact that is utter folly. It is about making sure you earn enough to develop the next product (or here, version). This may very well be more than the returns you just "maximized". Like when your existing customers run away, or even better if you "ban" them. This seems obvious on its face, no?
