Voda

I happliy use a Vodafone dongle on my comute to work between Liverpool and Manchester , but in recent times as smart phones get more popular - the actual access speeds I'm getting are getting to be pretty slow, and painful.

Had a t-mobile connection, but that got to the point 2 years ago when I could connect, but never actually get any data back.

For commutes to London via Liverpool or Manchester - both services are pretty hopeless, with virtually no reliable coverage once you're 10 miles south of the city centres till around Milton Keynes.

Athlon vs Atom

I seem to rember AMD's argument was actually that their low end Althlon and chipset range had a better power consumption/ figures to the Atoms processor, (along with chipset) - only nobody thought of using a processor, that wasn't specifically tailored to the netbook market.

Netbooks not fit for windows 7 then?

Last time I looked most Netbooks were running on 32 bit only Atom processors - so Microsoft's admits that their product is not fit to use with them then?

Actual Price

Well Dabs is offering it for a bit under £200, which sounds good value.

Imap vs Pop3

I may be wrong - but I don't think Pop3 has any of the inbuilt server side mail searching/filtering/storage functionality that imap has built in, enabling you to quickly find the mail you want, and store it somewhere sensible, making far superior to anything pop3 offers.- But then again I guess most mail clients (except pine) don't give you access to all this extra functionality.

www.merseymail.com, was built round Imap, and until recently offered external imap use - a service which sadly has been withdrawn due to over use.
