IBM marketeers rub out chopper after visit from CEO Ginni

Working Grunt

Takes the biscuit!

In fact the packet, Box and the whole flippin store!

Hopes people wont notice if the pic is deleted. Probably also hopes the staff don't notice that passenger on said chopper was recently awarded a 60% increase and a 30% bonus for managing the 20th straight quarter of decline.

Thumb Down

Bored!!!

Huge Disappointment - I enjoy the BOFH, a useful reminder that the real world can and does bite the boss's backside - but this was just plain boring. Has Simon finally sold his franchise? Maybe this is why the previous episodes are only for paid up members.

Loaded Safari yesterday ignoring EULA (who reads this stuff anyway). Took 10 times longer to get to Google than I.E. Was quicker to uninstall than to use.

IBM hits back against over-timers with pay cut

Re: Could'nt Happen in the UK

Not quite, but Big Blue imports most of it's HR practices into the UK. Chief of these is the 40 hour working week, whilst paying only for 37. Oh, and the idea that travelling to your client and back should be on your time, not theirs. Not to mention the idea that our revered leader, Larry Hurst, thinks that weasely words of thanks and encouragement will make up for the yearly pay cuts.

I believe IBM will soon reap what they are sewing, with the top talent leaving for competition, and those left behind so demoralised that they will do the bare minimum to get through the working week.

EDS offers 2,500 UK staff voluntary redundancy

RE: Hey, just a minute now...

Not all EDS are useless, but I am afraid that their management is just worse than stupid. I have the misoftune to be contracted to EDS as a SME on a govenrment project, and I am afraid you cannot put all their problems down to the difficulty of working with HMG. We had have had 3 different project managers in ONE WEEK, on a project that is going critical. Not the PM's fault, not HMG just pure stupidity and incompetance on EDS side.

Pity is though that as with al voluntary redundancy pakages, the useless management will stay on, any competant worker will use it to fund a jump ship.

RE B-O- N-U-S

What planet do you live on. Only "Sales" people would sniff anything close to 10%. The hard working technical grunts who provide the product and services to sell will be lucky to see even 3%.

As for any adjustment to salaries for cost of living, well, even the policeman's lot is a happy one compared
