About bloody time
"EU privacy body slams ACTA as 'unacceptable"
About bloody time they did something useful!
Re: at least they are trying
Simply because, if no one had ever dreamed of living in a mud hut, we would still be living in caves. Even when the first huts collapsed when it rained, which they probably did, they managed eventually to get it right.
"That is what we call progress"
Re: Great HR mistakes of our time - Aviva fires 1300 by email
Just what is the problem, Friday afternoon so someone in HR. is Just passing the time by practicing their work for next month.
Proven
"All the plans of mice and men." Can be very successful indeed.
Re: When your opponent has nuclear weapons.....
What a good idea, we should all be paying €5,000 or more for a nice little GPS. properly built to military specifications.
About Time!
Teaching "about emergency readiness."
Even in Portugal, Primary School children practice earth quake drill, "Get down and get under" and not to run outside like most of their parents do.
Please, please try and remember!
"What politicians say doesn't have to make sense, it simply has to win votes"
The government at the moment needs to win "Green" votes, so just ignore the cost and stupidity, as they are irrelevant.
Re: Single balloon elevated
A "T" shaped truss is spot on! Just use the 3 ends as suspension points, triangles are more stable anyway, then decide which way up to mount the truss.
To reduce spin, a tail something like that of a kite's would help. Due to the ascent their is bound to be air flowing downwards with some horizontal vector to it.
Re: They obviously didn't understand 'caveat emptor'
Yes, their Tech Boys must have known all about the problems they would cause to GPS. But the problem in the end was, C² simply underestimated the amount of political donations required to get away with it.
Re Re: Ho Dumb
Well he/she may be dumb, but is still basically right.
M$ do leave a lot of holes in there OS by design, it is called, "built in obsolescence."
Otherwise who in hell would fork out for Win7 or Win8 that offer little that is new for the average office workstation, when XP. is quit sufficient for the job. Just stop the updates, and M$ has more money in the bank.
Bullshit
The weather has been "COMPLETELY NORMAL of late." It just keeps changing in unexpected ways as it always has, since the atmosphere of earth first formed.

Tut, tut
"Naa, the resistance of the wire depends on the width"
Actually, the resistance of the wire depends on the area of its cross section, otherwise you are correct.
Clearly nothing to worry about!
"Between 20 and 30 pieces of the remains of the probe with a total weight of less than 200kg could hit the Earth's surface,"
So clearly nothing to worry about, even if those pieces are red hot and traveling at about 6 to 7 Km per second.
Anyway they always land in the sea, don't they?
No, no, Mycho
"If you have nothing to hide you've never had an ex?"
If you have nothing to hide you've never had a wife?
No
About the same for most work, but certainly a bloody site cheaper!
Let's get this right
Re. "The Bible story of the guiding star which guided the Three Kings in to deliver festive presents to the baby Jesus."
The Three Kings or Wise Men, were in fact most probably Astrologers, and most certainly not Astronomers, as astronomy as such didn't exist till more than a thousand years after the event.
So, no guiding star, just the correct alignment of the planets to predict the birth of a very special royal person in Palestine.
But never mind I like Christmas time, and it's a very nice story!
Worried about the faties!!
Have you ever seen the average Dutch man or woman trying to get into the average height car, or trying to get the front seats back far enough for comfort? I see it every day, driving for them is like flying with Ryanair.
Extreme care need!
Those who would open Pandora's box, need to be careful in the extreme!
Give up, or take away!
To quote
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Benjamin Franklin.
Dump Firefox ?
That must be a typo error, surely you meant dump McAfee!
McAfee is after all, only an expensive load of resource hungry rubbish, packed into a very nice looking box.
Ha, ha, ha!
All very well in the work environment, but clearly you do not have a wife and teenagers using machines at home!
Like Xing the Y
Like cleaning all the viruses and other shit out of your friends and neighbors machines every few months!
Most of whom never even bother to speak to you between cleaning times.
Don't you start worrying about that!
"Who in their right mind would put their private documents in the world's biggest snoopers & information resellers?"
Don't you start worrying about that, there are plenty of idiots in the world who will!
Keep It Simple Stupid
"Latham and his fellow boffins think that the flat systems exist because they have no massive gas-giant worlds like our own Jupiter, which could affect other planets' orbits with their strong gravity."
OR SIMPLY!
Because the stars have so many bloody planets going around them!
KISS
I paid for it, I own it, I can do what I like to it!
Maybe if Sony hadn't pissed of so many of its clients world wide, by deciding that just because they bought a Play Station that didn't mean they actually now own it. Perhaps Sony wouldn't be in quite so much shit as it is today!
Modifying equipment you own, anyway you may chose, is not in itself illegal. While modifying other peoples computer software without telling them, when they install a Sony DVD player is!!
No Surprise Here
So what in hell did you expect,
Android = Google; Google = Data mining.
That is what they do!!
MaAfee, must be very good?
After all it comes pre-installed on nearly all the computers in our local supermarket, and even if it's not, the McAfee box on the software shelf look just wonderful!!
Headline "Australia to lead the world!"
Spurred on by it's numerous "Sky Pixie Chasers" Australia is now set to lead the word in its race back to good old Victorian moral values.
Well done Australia!!
I agree, but just remember!
Just because they are dirty shit-bags, that doesn't mean they are stupid!!
Now Watson listen to me!
If you want to know who's the culprit, look at the targets, all big and rich.. This has to be either extortion or gun for hire, I go for the first, not that we will ever know for sure. Now pass me that pipe my good chap.
Fail!!!
I also come from a radio background, mainly working on telemetry, including a lot of antenna design. While I have no doubt you can get this to work in a lab, as for the real world forget it!!
As soon as your your own transmission is reflected by any nearby object, the reflected signal will swamp the null point you are using to receive in, Fail!!!
You are right!
But you might at least try a little harder, and get your quote right!
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."
Bloody Wonderful l!!!!
So now; I have lost daily contact with most of my family spread out around the globe, it's back to shitty emails just like at sodding work, bloody wonderful!!!
STOP BITCHING! Yes You!
Why all the bitching what the hell else do you expect from a civil servant in a good position! He just wants a quite life till he receives his nice fat pension.
Get it right then!
It's Mirror, Signal, Mirror, Maneuver.
Easy to Solve!!
Any Bank can buy them, just by using clients money, and not their own!!
Thanks a lot!!
Thanks a lot you shit team, I have just had a hell of a day thanks to your load of rubbish yesterday.
I'm living in Belgium and working with Germans!!!
"Won't ship outside their native country."
Living in Belgium, I find the worse country for not shipping outside their borders is England. Likewise they are also the worse for not accepting PayPal, or European Plastic Payments.
USA, online retailers are generally very good, but the delivery charge for air freight, and the import tax, sadly often make them a no go.
Narly 60!
Well at least between them they represent nearly 60% of the population,
That can't be too bad, or can it??
Led by the nose again!!!
For as long as this stupid fuc--ng system insures that only Labour or Tories can ever be elected, they will both support it, so it will never be changed. The British public are being led by the nose as always. The term "Hung Parliament" is a very simple and effective scare tactic, for the stupid British electorate. Anywhere else a "Hung Parliament" is known as a coalition government, and they work at least as well, if not better than simple majorities, as the views of the electorate are much better represented.
So What!!
Every Con Man looks for a greedy people, they are the easiest marks.
I use eBay regularly, to buy easy to check items at a very reasonable prices, never had a much in the way of problems. I always stay well clear of the super deals, and have never spent more than about €700.00 at a time.
So be careful, and just don't be GREEDY!!
Maybe?
Maybe Google has just realized censorship can spread, China today, Australia tomorrow, who next week UK? That would be their whole business model tits up!
I wonder??
I Wonder just how much of that US $1tn budget deficit ends up in a M$ bank account.
Mine is the one with M$ on the back and a extra large pocket to hold my wallet.
PAL. was still better
OK. So Phase Alternated Line had its problems, but it still beat the shit out of the other 2 for picture quality.
Paris, because she makes a good picture on any system!
Vistaseven
OK! So Vistaseven is coming with the same applications, plus more bells and whistles that we don't want.
What we do want is a OS. that is simple, light on resources and as bomb proof as possible.
Then we can install the applications we want, not those that MS. insist we use.
But as MS is a monopoly, a monopoly is a financial dictatorship, and dictators never take any notice of what people tell them, there is not much hope of that happening.
Anyone out there ready to start a revolution. Please!!
Getting Difficult
This just proves how difficult is must be to get a legal copy of XP. in some places.
Hound-Dog
"Microsoft is committed to dealing fairly with consumers!"
Bill is a lawyer from a family of Lawyers why would anyone expect them to deal fairly,
We will soon be blackmailed into buying "Vista" which we don't want and don't need, it is not going to do any of our work any better than XP. so thanks Bill for shafting us once again.
