Stop

Just say no.

If people would just say no by not submitting to the searches at the security check points, and planes started leaving nearly empty, policies would change really quickly. If we don't stand up for our rights, we will soon have none left.

But then, sheeple aren't noted for having much backbone.

WTF?

Airport security

Security at ALL airports is a joke. Given the volume of travelers, employees, and maintenance personnel, true security is just an illusion.

Gee, what a surprise!

I think the solution is for cell phones to be disabled while in a moving vehicle. Make them divert calls to voicemail automatically, and text messages similarly held until the car is stopped or turned off. I know that I am distracted trying just to talk on my cell while driving, and normally let it ring and call back when I am stopped. I would NEVER try to text and drive. I don't text anyway, it takes longer to type in that it's worth.

Personally I feel cell phones are the single most disruptive factor in modern life. Just look at how teenagers are addicted to their phones and texting. Studies have conclusively shown that their schoolwork suffers due to their preoccupation with the devices.

FAIL

Just what we need?

This whole flying car idea will not go anywhere for many years, or at least until it is completely controlled by computer(s) and there is a complete revolution in air traffic control. Throwing thousands of aircraft into the presently already overburdened ATC would be a disaster.

Besides the development costs, there will also be millions needed to certify the aircraft in the EU or US.

Ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

Cessnas?

You have my condolences if you have to fly Cessnas.

Get a ride in a Beechcraft, particularly a Bonanza or Debonair. If you do, you never fly a Cessna again.

MIssion to Mars

Tanya Cumpston wrote:

But how come costs only 500 million to go to Mars, yet the cost of going to Iraq (which, I have been told, is a lot closer), is 500 billion (and counting)?

We didn't have a moron running the mission to Mars like we have in "mission from God" in Iraq. Then again there aren't a bunch Muslim terrorists shooting at it or trying to blow up the Phoenix lander either. Also, NASA actually had a plan in place for what to do when they got to Mars.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Of course there is always THEIR interpretation of standards, and everyone else's interpretation of standards.

Transperancy

Quote: "They are also pledging to be more transparent in the future to prevent such misunderstandings from happing again."

Read: "They are pledging to disable logging of stealth updates so as to evade detection by users."

Sorry, the genie is out of the box now.

IRS

Wait until he gets a bill from the IRS for capitol gains tax. Will probably be for 25-30% of the value of the car. That'll take the smile off his face.

One more reason..

Just another great reason to dump Micro$oft crapware.

RFID Tags

If I was worried about a piece of clothing or some other non-electronic item having a chip that would expose any data I wanted withheld to casual probing, I'd just toss it in a microwave for a few seconds. Viola, no more functional RFID tag!
