In Can we have a proper study of Wi-Fi, please?
Their online technology columnist Bill Thomson agreed with much of what you've just said, what a shame they didn't talk to him on the show.

In Downing Street rejects Vista petition
i.e. if it's too much then no one would buy it. If people are buying it, then they must consider it worth it.
I don't want out government to be like the EU and think it knows best. If MS had agreed with rivals to keep prices of all software high then there'd be a good point, but when their nearest rival is FREE - it's a non-argument. People pay for windows because they think its worth it.

In Hotmail is dead! Long live Hotmail!
It removes email after you read it. Not good for a PDA that downloads the first 2kb, because when you go to fetch the whole thing, it's gone!

In Home Secretary bigs up fingerprint-activated iPods
It's no different to cars having number plates to put people of stealing them, or their fuel tanks being made so its very difficult to suck out the fuel and steel it. Why should gadgets be any different?

In 'IE8 compatible' - the cure for web standards headache?
IE5 was the last browser that had new features I wanted to upgrade to. Most users won't think "oooh wow, it supports standards" and download IE8. Plus this means it won't support innerHTML, which Firefox does.

In Thunderbird 2 is go
Add calendar and to-do lists, and I'm switching. Seeing as Eudora went open source, I was hoping some of its feature-set may have made it (the peppers indicator for example!), random signatures and just more than a basic email client (most of the masses use Hotmail anyway)

In Vodafone explains N95 crippling
Vodafone have always done this, which is why I avoid them. They used to stop you using MP3s as ringtones so you had to buy the 30 second clip for £3 from their online store. Vodafone thinks we're stupid!

In Microsoft brings instant messaging to Xbox Live
Would be interesting to know if you'll be able to use the headset/webcams to chat to Windows Live folks, - this feature would be a blow to Google talk and Skype for sure.
Also what what are going to do about people who have separate Live IDs for their Xbox Live and Windows Live profiles, will we be able to merge them?
