"they undermine the integrity of our markets "
Says it all really doesn't it!
We all sometimes have the wrong word come out.
Just most of us are not being recorded or played on air.
Rant!
Will someone please take out all the bl**dy statisticians from sport and have them shot!
Who really cares if X got Y % of first server in whereas A got B % with a SD of J????
Rant Over!
It's sold in lower volumes because it costs more .

"after graduating with a first in mathematics in 1996 aged 17"
Very sad the way his name has been dragged through the mud!
Where is the Flying Scotsman with realistic chuffing sound?
My son is going to be distraught!
Guess you mean the Wehrmacht, thought the Bundeswehr were on our side, it wasn't formed until well after the end of WW II.
Seriously why cannot they make it available now?
The Judge said:
"Those who find abortion repugnant do not use it as an excuse to justify deliberately committing offences"
They do, have a look at Barnett Slepian.
That they find it repugnant is their whole justification. This is something the opposing sites are never going to agree on. As this thread has shown it is a hugely emotive issue.
Just ignore it?
Cheers :-)
Microsucks!
Microsoft?
Curious why a company whose major output is software would outsource to the Taiwanese hardware giant Foxconn.
Apologies if you meant some other company
Have they found the squirrel which lost the nut and ended up in the permafrost itself?
Now bringing that back to life would be interesting!
An alternative take on not hearing much about RoR is that it has got past the hype and is at the point where people decide to use it or not based on its merits rather than you must use it because all the cool kid do!
Funnily enough bringing RoR and Javascript in the same article doesn't mention the former now uses the latter

"and warned that the European arrest warrant system could collapse if the WikiLeaker-in-chief walks"
Result IMHO
Assuming most laptop disk failures come from mechanical shock i.e. dropping the thing how many people will dare drop a 5K laptop?
Ever since I read this I've had that bloody "New Model Army" song going through my head!
Don't corporations have to justify their actions by saying they "increase shareholder value!".
Hence the reason given might be an economic cloak for what is really a moral stance.
If they came out and said we just think this is right would that leave them up to legal action?
We are talking about the USA here.
If it turns out the lady was homeless, unemployed, had mental health problems or something like that this is just really a rather sad story.
This it his first tackle in Rugby League

Bit of a wobble but did stop him coming back for more.
I've always assumed buying online using a credit card was the sensible way to go. However is there going to be a point where the credit card issuing banks are going to say "with all these details being leaked to the world and his dog so frequently it seems we need to look at other systems".
All well and good setting up secure payment systems but if the details are out in the wild what use are they?
Party membership is one thing for a legal party but don't financial donations to political parties have to be declared? Suppose I give x million to a party and then they exclude my business from some tobacco advertising laws or I give a couple of million to another party then seem to get rather nice tax breaks this surely should be in the public domain!
30000 feet seems rather high!
Anyone care to give a estimate of the highest a helicopter can reach?
A couple of points come to mind,
Why would the US ask for it back and not just say it's a con job?
How are you sure the high resolution pictures proving this were not themselves faked?
Just a thought

This is about 1/10th of the East Timor site !
Being a long term user of Olympus cameras, my OM-4 Ti is still going strong, I just hope Olympus can survive the financial mess it seems to be in at the moment.
"We found that the turbulent eddies on the surface of the plasma produced surface flows that eventually grow large enough to shred the eddies, turning off the turbulence," says Schmitz. "Much like the population of predators and prey find a balance in the wild, we find that the plasma flow and the plasma turbulence reach an equilibrium in the tokamak plasma."
Err ?
I thought the whole point of Lotka–Volterra equations were their ability to generate totally unstable outcomes.
OpenIndiana
See http://openindiana.org/
That has ZFS!
My Finnish is rather poor but looking at their web site http://www.patriootti.com/ is rather informative.
A link to a video from Ex-Grand Wizard David Duke and a cartoon about Israeli nuclear weapons suggest they worry about Zionism quite a lot!
Had to pop into Boots this afternoon to get my glasses sorted. Whilst waiting for the guy to come back I looked around at the computers.
All using XP, no sign of Vista, Windows 7 or any Linux machines.
Works for them!
Just as long as it has a spell checker! (Is that one or two words?)
There is always the question of perspective, impartial doesn't mean not taking sides.
Recently the BBC showed clips of demonstrations it claimed were in Libya but were in fact India.
Now I put that down to cock-up but other people think it's all part of a sinister plot.
Basically I will defend the BBC as one of the best broadcasting outfits in the world but don't kid yourself it does not push the states agenda.
Just look at how much more coverage the revolt in Egypt got compared to the one in Bahrain.
Of course Egypt is a much bigger country but does anyone think the BBC are going to start annoying the Saudis?
By the way Press TV maybe bonkers but it can be good fun at times
Waiting for the first joke about "pundits"
Interesting they chose XFS and say they will also look a Lustre and GPFS.
However I would like to see them do it under ZFS!
What if your name is Michael Gove?
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!
Only joking!
Not sure how close you would get to that bit from China.
Also guess Chinese ships might have a fairly robust attitude to pirates a bit like the old Soviet ones were supposed to have.
Basically their merchant ships were rather well armed!
As above, you got the cash now move on please!
That's why I put "some" in capital letters.
What's the bet the thing that really irks "SOME" employers is all that Health and Safety rubbish.
I did an apprenticeship with BP in 1979 and some of the stuff we did and worked with was really dangerous stuff (hydrazine anyone?)
Symptoms of acute (short-term) exposure to high levels of hydrazine may include irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, dizziness, headache, nausea, pulmonary edema, seizures, coma in humans. Acute exposure can also damage the liver, kidneys, and central nervous system. The liquid is corrosive and may produce dermatitis from skin contact in humans and animals. Effects to the lungs, liver, spleen, and thyroid have been reported in animals chronically exposed to hydrazine via inhalation. Increased incidences of lung, nasal cavity, and liver tumors have been observed in rodents exposed to hydrazine.
Luckily BP did take Health and Safety more serious than a lot of companies I have worked for.
Just feel sorry for the poor buggers who for £2.50 an hour who will be exploited and most likely some will die.
Still every little helps when generating profit eh!
How much does this service from Facebook cost?
"However, speaking in general, Roy Grimsey, director at Harvey Nash, said that wage reductions for staff, whether contract or permanent, could be useful in the current climate"
Assume by "in general" he means other people taking a pay cut not actually him!
"and with DTrace, they can do things he says they've never done before."
Personally DTrace enabled me to see things I've never understood and probably never will!
Well at least kidneys!

Now if your data was in xml we might have an idea of what on earth you are on about!
How much can he con from them?
Nicked :-)
Don't dislike REM but prefer "Man on the Moon" by Sugar!
But it does make you think the Mirror thinks it's clean otherwise why "go to the mattresses"?
