Title

It may have been a poor joke.

It may have gone over your head.

Did it warrant a snide remark from the moderator?

Cue fawning fanboys voting me down.

Les Matthew

The Rovers Return In Space?

Title says it all.

@Chrome

You do know that most modern desktop motherboards currently on sale still have PS/2 ports on them?

"Lord Oakeshott: make banks declare corporation tax. £113m of corporation tax in 2009 des...pite reporting profits of £11.6bn."

Barclays 249 offshore subsidiaries exist for a reason.

When paying your tax just remember the mantra:

We're all in this together. :D

So all the techies were in Silicone Valley?

Les Matthew

Correct me if I'm wrong

But it was a debit card and not a credit card. So I'm assuming age restrictions may be different?

@Andrew Smith 1

"It seems that Liverpool Council have missed the point."

Do you remember "Care In The Community", and how well that worked?

To me "Big Society" is the same with a different buzzword for a name.

@advocate

"Surely the druggies would have taste tested the ashes first and realised their mistake?"

LOL just LOL. Maybe you should watch a little less television.

Bit of a role reversal though.

"they give you good ideas but hide the most important parts"

Not when it's windy in central London, and especially not if they are wearing a thong underneath.

And it is not always a pleasant sight.

Les Matthew

@Defiant

You do know that for the best part of the last century the UK telephone network was state (GPO) owned and subsidised?

Up until the eighties when Thatcher gave it away for a fraction of its value.

How much is it going to cost me

to get something as reliable as this?

http://home.clara.net/lesmcdm/images/icf.jpg

Almost 37 years old, used near enough every single day of those 37 years and the only fault is a broken telescopic aerial. Cost me £55 back in 1973 ish.

Does anyone even make consumer electronics these days that will last till 2047?

Les Matthew

Good as this all sounds

It's still all talk until it actually happens.

I've also got a nagging feeling that we're being softened up for the bad news that is sure to come in the very near future.
