I got rid of gmail several years ago.

Currently I run TB in a Linux guest on Virtualbox as my main email, for all may email account on my web server.

For an alternate, when my web server [for TB] blocks mails, very tight rules, I have moved to Zoho.

They have a free and commercial $$ along with a desktop [windows] application and fully function in a web browser including my phone [android with Opera]

Zoho also has calendar, notes, collaboration, tasks, bookmarks and contacts so it is a good safe, not snooped, alternate to M$ and Google.

The Sound of Corruption

Hello, liar our old friend

We've come to vote you out again.

'Cause corruption softly was creeping

Left its seeds while you were dreaming.

And the vision that was planted in your brain

Still remains

With in the halls of corruption.

In restless halls you walked alone

made of polished granite stone

'Neath the halo of a desk lamp

You turned your life to the cold and damp

When your eyes were blinded by the flash of a media light

That split the night

And touched your vision of corruption.

And in the naked light you saw

10 million people, maybe more

Voters talking loudly, protesting

You hear without listening

People writing laws that voters never knew

none of you

Disturb the sound of corruption.

"Fools", said I, "You do not know

corruption like a cancer grows,

Hear our protest we might teach you

Take our petition we might reach you"

But our words, like silent teardrops fell

And echoed in the wells of corruption

And the voters bowed and prayed

To the phony gods they made

And the sign flashed out its warning

In the words that it was forming

And the sign said "The words of the prophets are

Written in history's walls

And tenement halls

And whispered for defeat of corruption."

May not be what you saw/used but I run TrackMeNot on Opera.

Logo is a blue circle with TWN, there is another named exactly the but different.

3-Adguard + UBlock on desktop browsers

4-Opera default browser on desktop [minimal ~must use~ of others]

5-OperaMini and/or AdBlock Browser on phone.

What are you people smoking? 'Cause it is bad shit as in no good.

Why is Windows at the top of the list?

The user gets what they get [oem machine] and they don't have to dick around with it.

Dell, HP, Lenovo, others will take care of auto updates the same as windows auto updates and hopefully none of them shit in their diaper.

All the take of more eyes, doing it for humanity, etc will NOT get linux off the bottom right above pond scum.

As far as *buntu, I ascribe that to "if a company [they are] give you something for free, the you might highly consider that you are their product."

Google anything even in windows and find how much *buntu comes back with same crap, and specifying linux makes it worse.

I recommend for windows transition, and have been on it for several year is a "solid" distro off of debian, and the developers are ex-debian programmers. SolydXK [K(de) for me but X is ok).

True Firefox and a few others that a few days to 2-3 weeks to get updated, but other than that....IT IS SOLYD.

Re: *uckerBerg does it again

*uckerBerg picked the wrong business model which entrapped his users.

When a company offers you something for free, it is very possible you are their product.

This was also solved several years ago when a federal judge said that when you put your stuff on somebody else equipment then you no longer own that stuff.

This applies to all of the social non-sense.

Of course if you are leasing a web server [ie your-name-or-business.com] then you own your stuff as the provider has ownership of only the equipment.

3) Install white supremist neo-nazi authoritarian administration to stop any takeover.

4) more to this list than space....

Minnesota, Illinois rebel over America's ISP privacy massacre, mull fresh info protections

Trey Pattillo

united not divided

Let start at the least common denominator.

In my state a bunch of the larger cities have implemented "no cell/texting while driving".

Well I live 15 miles from such city.

Who's to say I never heard of such "city ordinance".

So the State has proposed as State wide ban on cell use/texting while driving.

So ALL CONFUSION has been resolved.

That is the purpose of the State.

AND......that is the PURPOSE of the FEDERAL.

When the states can not have some census about law then it is up to the Federal to level the field

Same goes for LGBT, same sex marriage and a laundry list of topics that apply.

The movements need to get on board for NO Lobbying $$ and Term Limits, that will solve a lot of the political problems [McConnell should have been gone years ago. But sat for 8 years with his thumb up his ass and he's licking Trump's ass.] Politics was designed as a "service" not as a profession.

War Games is fake...

A story from mid 1980's.

I worked a major manufacture and we had a "mini-frame" for the whole place.

The mini talked to the main-frame over 500 miles away on dedicated lines.

Blow you user name and/or password 3 times this was a daily limit and BAM....you were deleted from the system.

I was on nights so we had to wait until 9am the next day for upper management to call the system people at the main frame to put us back.

You were not the only unhappy person, there was a chain of them.

Big Blue and good software design and security always overs come youth and vigor.

I tell people get something like a verse from your favorite song, favorite bible verse, something a comedian said like "why do you have a hot water heater, you need a cold water heater". Get the point. You can remember that and maybe do it for types of usage categories, like bank/finance/money something about the money changers being in the temple from the Sunday book of fables.

Example using password that is hashed with a key then run through base64 conversion [don't lose you key if you your want to reverse - yes you can]

pass phrase: why do you have a hot water heater, you need a cold water heater

becomes: 5a9dxv#Gxw=G5$q@*)+=xvt82vh_xw595v'Jxv9=*)#=4:H86(h`xvd=+("8*$q;3aI<xw595v'Jxv9=*)#=48ll

length: 88 > 30 low 6 up 20 numb 26 top symbol 6 other symbol

combinations: 4.32 E+173

Entropy: 576 Very Strong

PC/Web: 136.8 E+161 years

Tianhe-2/Botnet: 162.6 E+71 years

But the account is locked on the 3rd maybe 10th fail until the next day......hacker loses.

Remember the hacker unlike War Games does not know anything about the password, including the key and that it was base64 encoded.

First we were the "customer".

Then we became a "consumer" [done ever cook I can to plastic disk and still tough and chewy]

Now we are their "PRODUCT". No income from selling each other "OUR" data.

Notice how Linux is still highly disparaged.

Why? No money there.

As of 2017 MS Office 2016 is installed by WINE. MS's cash cow.

And don't give me the 365 cloud crap.

We came full circle there.

First is was a main frame. You machine did nothing but connect to the MF.

Then Gates gave us all a machine on our desk. [ now $$ now from Licensing and Ads]

Now it is the "cloud".

For krist sake. Call it what it is. SOMEONE ELSE machine. [a main frame].

The USA courts stated several years ago that when you put your stuff on someone else machine you no longer "own" your stuff.

Look at Facebook and their ilk.

Of course if you are leasing/own a server/CoLo/VPS then you own that and your data is managed and owned by you.

This is may change as the Liar-and-Chief get more control.
