Re: I remember being somewhat disappointed
Yeah I stopped playing single player somewhere in the catacombs too, played the hell out of the multi player on-line though. Probably the last on-line FPS I really got into.
hur dur sexual assault lol
Can anyone translate this to an Earth language?
Well I hope there is 4g in the afterlife or they're going to be raining back down on us over the next few days :/
The real question, is AVG still as much use as a chocolate fireguard?
Every outbreak I've had to deal with for friends and family over the last few years has been riddled with nasties on AVG's watch.
Never mind fancy thrust, weight or wingspan calculations, it was the Wildfire S part that did it for me :D
Good riddance
Someone call Karl Pilkington, this is a job for Bullshit Man.
Suppose it's not that surprising, he's always been a bit (okay a lot) of a douche if you look back at how he treated his Elite/Frontier associates.
Publishers are lucky we are still buying games at all, in a world where every other industry is vying for your hard earned with better and better deals, videogame merchants seem to think there is still room to keep squeezing.
Last new release I picked up was Star Wars: The Old Republic just before Christmas, where knowing it was days till Santa would be loading up his sleigh and that they had a very hot game on their hands I was lightened of £45 for a copy by "Game", well over the odds for a PC game and I'd probably think twice before spending that on a console game either.....add a monthly sub in there and you have the answer to why I never usually go near new release games. I'd been waiting a long time so this was a massive exception to my usually cast iron rule of not buying till the price drops.......which has nothing to do with the pre-owned scene and everything to do with not enjoying getting shafted.
What does Dave even think we're spending our trade in "fortunes" on if not more games?!? Has anyone pointed him at GOG.com either? A whole site of games so worth the asking price that I am paying all over again decades after release you say? No sales past the first week you say? Selling shit and expecting me to eat it I say!
Oh I don't trade in games anyway, it's another massive rip off scam of the retailers....however as a kid I depended on trading in or outright swaps to fund my habit (back when shops were indie and knew your name and gave a toss about whether you came back next week or not).
wow, I take it they're not smartphones then? No point owning one of those if you don't have a toilet to sit on.
you are holding it wrong, expecting too much and living in the wrong place, case dismissed.
Amazon have nothing to worry about, it wasn't the last wish of a dying man that they should be destroyed at any cost.
And if you don't have a BBC accent straight from the 1900's, you're saying it wrong too.
It's been pretty hilarious watching my companies middle managers try Siri out for the first time so far.
Evi on the other hand understands what I'm saying extremely well, although it still hasn't been able to comply with a single request for me yet.
I think all the voice functions out there need a bit longer in the oven.....not I'd ever use them in public, I'd rather be caught trous down and hands full than be caught talking TO my phone :D

Why not Zoidberg?
"British government top boffins"
is that a euphemism for mumsnet?
Re: Ah but can it answer the following?
Thanks for the heads up on this one Apple, never heard of it before today.
And what a fantastic experiment, I am going to see how it handles Captain Morgan and some fuzzed out stoner rock later.
Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue.
Re: wee chunks of Mars on your laptop
I'll stick with a Chunky Kit-Kat and a nice cup of coffee when I'm on mine.
"They'll happily hand over their most-personal information to Google and Facebook, but being tracked by a mobile operator is apparently a step too far."
Maybe, just maybe, different people have different opinions on those actions and we're not all part of the Hive Mind?!?
Re: Re: "It would be far cheaper to either get the system repaired or to replace it completely."
"you lot over there in Blighty"
Never go to Wales mate, they'll burn you and stick you on top of the telly for less than that.
I'll stick with Alarmdroid on my phone, I like my Archos 70 Internet Toy (when it's behaving), but no way I would trust it to get me up for work on time every morning >.<
Doesn't sound that valentines, but my partner wants Star Wars: The Old Republic.........so she can stop watching from the sideline and run around a galaxy far far away with me :)
Hmmm, probably more interested in some decent built in gesture based controls for my laptop than I am about leaping around the front room in front of a glowing monolith of a TV.......which is something that does not interest me even slightly.
Makes sense to me as touchpads are rubbish, touchscreens are still overpriced and plugging in a mouse (my usual option) is a bit messy.
Well there is the lack of a kick stand sorted.
Maybe if they kept their attention on the marketplace rather than patent trolling the world they would not have lost the lead.
Android 2.2
stopped there, plus I never use the land line, wouldn't have one if we were not on ADSL.
"my movie, with my name on it"
fair enough, just don't expect me to pay my money to see after you've been rubbing your dick all over it.
"They tasered him first and it failed, THEN wrestled him to the ground."
One of these guys is guilty of excessive use of force :D
Where is my...
"iJustDroppedAMassiveSteamer" app?
I'm a happily co-habiting man so I don't get too much use for the one in the article :D
words fail and so does Prof Thomas Sterner.
"It's art because an 'artist' and an 'art gallery' say it is."
Nah, it's art, because they gave it a name and put it on it's own little plinth.
I quite like the statement, but maybe the execution could have done with more thought.
"Why do iphone owners complain about the battery life on android phones (without even discriminating by make or model)? It's like when mac users tell me my pc crashes 5 times a day."
and that's before installing flash which will apparently make your browser crash hourly :D
The fact that Mark E Smith is a dribbling moron has nothing to do with class.
"Hackers care about Micro SD and full USB support"
you calling my old mum a hacker?!?
If you say so guy.
"you should probably know what to expect by now-gate"?
So you want to be expensive and simplistic?
but the fruity ones pretty much have that sewn up, and RIM seem to have the cheap and simple vote from the chav element....... have fun in 3rd or 4th place fella.
and they're bringing a MiFi device to market?!
lol from another voda customer that is constantly attached to a 3UK MiFi
In before Ice Pirates!
watch out for Space Herpe
Sounds great, but my Voda spends such an inordinate amount of time showing a sad little single G where I should be seeing HSPA+ that it's hard to get excited about any new mobile internet standard.
Thank the maker for things like Mi-Fi that mean I'm not stuck putting up with it all the time :D
"Is'nt this the case where m$ claim that linux infringes their patents"
I thought it was because of the use of things like FAT32 for storage and anything else that makes the devices play nice with Windows out of the box.
For me that would still be worth an extra ten dollah.
I pity anyone that can look and a stunning picture like that and still just be seeing Angry Birds.
Put it away, you'll go blind.
"regional dialects"
that's everyone, if you don't think you have a regional dialect, you must come from Laaaahndahhhn.
It's an outrage!
"$499.99, which is not outrageous"
Really, can I have a job please? Reg hacks must be on a pretty decent whack by the sound of it, I'd balk at paying that for my entire base unit.
Before reading this article I was getting ready to order a Momentus XT for my ailing laptop, after reading it, I'm more sold on the Seagate than ever.
your fault
Going to hunt down my Civ 2 disk when I get home, and it's all your fault!
Archos
Had the Archos 70 250Gb for a month or so now, it's not for the faint of heart and does require a little monkeying around to get running nicely.....but I'm really pleased with it for the price.
Also got the 11 year old the Archos 101 for her birthday last week and it has literally not left her hands for more than a few seconds.
They're obviously for the slightly nerdy type who doesn't mind getting under the bonnet every now and then, but for the money they're really nice solid gadget toys. If not these I'd have gone for the Hannspad or the Advent Vega.
I'm never going to pay 400-500 quid for a toy, I won't even spend that on my main system. Good to see some companies understanding what they need to do to woo the non Apple buyer, make them reasonably priced and functional rather than aspirational lifestyle products.
going into shops
why not?
you can get the same deals in a phones4u or carphone warehouse as on their site and you get the thing there and then after having a play on it.
I'd also never go direct to an operator again, I really like having a totally unbranded and un-messed with phone.
I think there is a misconception that loyalty might be rewarded, it's not, it's exploited.
rich for my blood
most of these things still cost far too much for what they are to me (toys).
I got an Archos 70 250Gb for just under £180 and love it, it's not a cut down netbook, it's a PMP on steroids......which is just what I wanted.
E-mail I removed with Arctools (along with some other bloat), I was horrified at the idea of yet another bloody e-mail device, I've got so many already!
Look at meeeee
http://youtu.be/A_d_K1ZlqyI
thanks
thanks for the concern, but I can decide myself whether I want to use FB or not.
Now get off the computer and tidy that bedroom!
