paid content

recall that NYT has announced it is moving to paid content next year, and has worked closely with Apple to develop its app. plus the OS displayed is 3.2 - not yet available for public with v4 pending

those holes will disappear and we will pay gladly to fill them

Happy

We're talking American, right?

Fat, stupid, ignorant? Yes in these United States anything is possible. Including cops standing in water using high voltage devices...

Tres bon avril imbecille!

Thumb Down

Slammed again

It's illegal in the states, but M&A activity permits the customer to be handed around like a freshman coed at a fraternity party - 2nd slam in 3 years of service

the regulators must permit the customer penalty free contract cancellation each time this happens

Dead Vulture

carry on

15 years ago a cow-orker gave me his when he tired of it, no box so i carried it on board my flight home

the best part was at security where they wanted me to boot it - what a crowd, in them days, yunguns, a 386 monochrome laptop was hot, the color screen won!

sadly it finally bit the dust of eBay a few years back

Jobs Horns

punter fever?

The mom & pop sites could be checking out their visitor logs...I know I do.

Lately several visitors, when their link is clicked, try to down load a "movie" file. Even on a Mac I have to force quit my browser to regain control of it. The movie sites seem to be domained in Germany.

failing economy? consume locally, waste globally

Thanks to mind programming while in college through hours of Dr Who and Monty Python I am hopelessly addicted to Brit TV. BBC America is as bad as Hollyweird controlling what I can watch.

Thank you Amazon for offering a world-wide bazaar that allows me to shop in the UK and other outlets internationally.

Thank you MasterCard/Visa for converting my daddy warbucks to euro-monoply monies.

Thank you international postal treaties that get the digital blobs of overpriced plastic to me in reasonable time.

Thank you big and little tigers for building a basic cheap DVD player for a world hungry for something different to watch. And cheap LCD tvs that display the same. Thank you Wal-Mart for colonizing the planet so we can buy this junk locally. Thank you Pentagon for subsidizing the invention of the internet so knowledge is mostly free and easy.

I wonder what I'd be buying today if there'd been chip and ka-bab shops in Oklahoma?
