BT fibre 'availability checker' looks into FAR-OFF FUTURE. Again

Re: Yet another...

Problem is, that you're only high priority to get fibre if you *can* get Virgin. If you can't, you are a captive audience so they can take as long as they like to fibre you up since Virgin aren't laying any new fibre because they can't afford it (or so i'm led to believe)...I'm in the same position :(

Wait, don't ditch that IT career just yet: UK vacancies hit 5-year high

Re: Maybe they'll start reading CVs, too ...

That's nothing, I once had a recruiter ring me up about a role that *I* had advertised!

I did consider applying for the role to see how far I could take it. Interview myself? Offer the job to myself?

Is this possibly the worst broadband in the world?

Re: Stop being tight

Already tried them. They aren't interested unless your house already has FTTC, which seems to be the same as every other provider I've looked at!

Re: Stop being tight

Really? Where from? I've been looking for something like that for about a year but haven't found anywhere (unless I want to pay about 2 grand *per month* that is!)

Virgin Media preps firmware update for glitchy SuperHub

FAIL

Ho Humm

I had Virgin Cable and the SuperHub. It was indeed dire.

I then moved house to a non-cabled area, and to avoid paying a contract get-out fee, I've got Virgin ADSL. It's better than it was on cable with the SuperHub, but it's still probably the worst ADSL I've ever had. Spot the common factor (other than me...)

@Jimbo

Actually... WinCE is a set of services, components and tools which can be used to build a full OS. Windows Mobile is one such OS that uses the base WinCE "stuff" and builds on it providing a different UI etc.
