Windows Phone is a great OS but lacks apps. Infact Windows phone is much nicer to use than any of its rivals. Android is suffering from large companies not producing Apps or delaying them despite the huge market. iPhone is an outdated OS in serious need of modernisation, but its apps are second to none.

HTML 5 apps will allow cross compatibility if we are lucky making the app market irrelevant. Meaning Windows phone and android will push ahead of Apple in all aspects.

Apples lack of innovation will be their downfall. Its currently supported by their closed garden, and ignorant customer base. If you exclude the app stores IOS is by a long way the worst OS. And in most cased running on the worst hardware.

I dont think a patent should be allowed for natural use of the human body. We use Multi touch naturally and i have done since birth. If i wish to touch and manipulate things with multiple fingers i should be allowed too.

Actually im not :P The adverts are little more than Video, or low end gaming. You can get the similar battery life gains by staring at your desktop and not actually doing anything.

I agree with Apple's Iphone we should go back to basic HTML, image how much battery life we could save only having text!!! infact why bother with the OS user interface, imaging the battery life with command based laptops!!!!

Eitherway surely the issue is that websites should not allow flash based adverts. Or at least detect that they are on a laptop. It wont be long before HTML 5, or the next tech is eating battery life.

If HTC for example brought out a crap Android phone, you just buy a different one, you still get the goodness.

If your iPhone doesnt work you told to sod off, what choice do the users have? Even when they admit fault by offering a case to fix the issue the phone doesnt apparently have.

Apple users are such saps. Look at the stagnent Mac platform, its had so little development its still in the dark ages. they didnt even support a stadard UK keyboard untill a couple of years ago, and im not sure if they do now. But if you asked them to fix it they would tell you to buy apple rubbish, and go f$$$ yourself if you wanted them to actually support a setup used by millions of people.

I have had the stalling issue but none of the others. I guess thats because i know how to type rather than jab at a screen hoping it works.

Anyway i went android because because the iPhone has stagnated. Without any competition in the market the iPhone is quickly becomming substandard with a slow processor and the dated grey look. More importantly the iPhone 4 has a signal issue which i have caused first hand. Yes i know apple given a free case to fix a hardware fault but im not a twat. There is also the issue that as there is only one iphone if you ask them to fix it they offer you a refund. what choice does a user have but to stick with it.

The iPhone itself if OK, its stylings are a bit 1984 and you have to buy it from a shop which looks like a council house (Grey block if you dont get that), but atleast you get to look at them on ikea tables. My point is the iPhone aint great but the developers have done a good job. Lets face it you dont see any apple apps on their adverts.

On the upside the good developers are moving to Android :D

The idea wouldnt work because you couldnt stream adverts that people had to pay for which would make it unviable for TV on a major scale. Would anyone really watch sky, channel 4 etc if you where paying half the cost because of adverts?

If we wearnt years behind the 3rd world in terms of broadband we would be fine by now. The problem is we have to do it all at once now which suddenly seems really expensive.

Thinking about it if we cancel the olympics the saving would allow them to run fibre to my house. We could then give it to France and watch it online. We could probably only afford my house though, as the rest would be absorbed by MPs expenses to pay for the broadband to their eighth home.

You should also remember that if you have to pay for the connection then why pay for the content. Pirate flags ahoy!? If i have to pay for it then im keeping it.

Apple and innovation? Not sure that should be in the same sentence. There OS still doesnt work, the iPod is a poor MP3 player, iPhone costs as much as a laptop, a phone and a camera and does all parts badly. The apple patent system certainly is quantity over quality.

Most people retarded enough to have IE6 still on their machines, will probably have an outdated version of FF as well. In an Enterprise enviroment its more secure as it can be updated from a central location, and patch status can be monitored centrally.

Also free software is genrally free because you wouldnt pay for it. Its too cock handed, out of date, and useless at running apps to bother with. Thats why we use Windows.

Lets face it using MAC is like using a crayon instead of a pen. And using Linux is like trying to sign your name with a high powered laser. Windows sits happily between them both, its like a biro its not great but we love it.

As long as theya only copy the looks we are fine. Mac OSX looks good. The worry is that they go the otherway and we end up with slow resource heavy OS like OSX which wont run any thing other than a web browser.
