internet explorer has this feature, I assume Mozilla thought now thats a good idea. They need the feature that ie 9 has that any addon that slows the startup by more than 0.2 of a second throws up a dialogue asking if you want to disable it.

Having a windows pc being used to firefox and coming to the Mac there is something less than satisfying about safari, so it never gets used on my machine.

Because of firefox's erratic memory use on os x I mostly use chrome

I have the cheaper £1000 i5 and compared to my old white macbook its much better. In normal use its whisper quiet and hardly gets warm at all. In my use the battery probably will do 5 hours whilst not earth shattering is pretty decent.

the new Samsung box is much better than the old V+ box and the picture seems better.

One thing to note with sky is the picture quality on the none HD channels sometimes is so bad its unwatchable, not a problem you have on virgin

Like the article says unless you put it in a protective gase tje iphone 4 is an accident waiting to happen. One thing that put me off about the iphone is the contracts are expensive at least £10 a month more than one with other phones

I don't give a toss about facebook updates can live without instant twitter feed and all the other social network garbage so probably not the phone for me

I set a new Sony reader up for a customer and it was a nightmare on her sluggish laptop. As someone else has stated using the waterstone site is fiddly, and thats being kind. You have to install the sony itunes lookie likie and some adobe thing to get the books registered to the device. With kindle buy the books on any web browser and they appear on the device

as froyo allows wifi tethering and this is usually a paid for feature this is understandable. I got impatient with t-mobile (UK) and put the generic 2.2 firmware in my desire, the result of this is my phone will provide wifi tethering which I don't actually pay for, which is nice. These non-stories are a bit dumb, most people never mess with the phones firmware, so this will have no effect, for those that do I am sure there will be a way round it eventually.

Fine but slight issues

SAying the magsafe plug is indestructible is just incorrect I am on my third the socket though is a work of genius. 2 GB is just not enough if you want to do anything more than one tab browsing

observations

Macbooks have to only power connector on laptops that can't be damaged by rough handling, sure the power connector it self can go (i am on my third) but its far cheaper than taking your laptop to have the power socket changed.

Macbooks that said are really mean on supplied ports and why can't we have a usb on the right to plug a mouse into.

I love my macbook and use it every day but I still think the UI on vista or windows 7 is better, there are just stupid little things that annoy me.
