The most challenging and complex process in upgrading to win 7 was to find out what licence was needed. Too many editions, too many different options for different countries. Lets hope MS has this sorted as well.
13 Nov - FF9
14 Nov - FF10 Beta
17 Nov - FF10
FF28 due on Christmas day.
What is ground breaking in iPhone 4s? Obviously the ability to contribute a bit more to global warming....
Legend
Toyota sues Hyundai because their car has four wheels, and looks like a Corolla. Apple you suck.
that Samsung does not introduce a "design fault" in the next batch of screens they build for Apple. That would be a laugh...
Paris, because she is vindictive.
The world is poorer for the loss of Steve. His legacy will go on. Condolences to his family.
Please, consider that the current version of office is 2010, not 2007. The ribbon in office 2007 was so bad it was significantly and for the better in the later version. So if you have to have a ribbon, base it on 2010. With screens getting wider, the realestate is on the horizontal plan. Putting fat ribbons at the top does not make sense anymore.
The streak 5" has been my"phone" for a while. Like most who like the streak 5 I don't use the phone much, but it is a nice add on to a good size tablet. I understand it is not for all. it will be a pain to have to carry 2 devices to achieve the same.
Facebook has yet again made it too easy for phones to sync contact info to the site. All info sharing should be off by default and then it should be made difficult to enable. Once enabled it should warn before the first few syncs. And removing sync and info should be made superb easy.
Then difference between genius and madness is success. Is it possible that M$Okia are seeing something that is missing? A mobile OS that integrates with corporate systems running on good quality devices? After all that is how blackberry made a squillion back in the old days when emails to mobile was the ultimate integration.
It would be doing 500 kph and consume 2 litres per 100 kms. Sure it would need restarting once in a while. Ask per bagging M$ for software that need patching. Show me a os that doesn't.
It had been a Google employee he would have placed an ad for personal floating devices.
TinyTwin usb tuner from digitalnow has been out for years. Nothing new here.
, Cost of hardware 10% legal costs 90%. Crapple sues Samsung, Samsung sues HTC and HTC sues Crapple. And the consumer forks out the bill.
would smart phones and tablets be if CrApple stopped sewing Samsung who stopped sewing M$ who stopped sewing HTC who stopped sewing CrApple.... Hardware $20, legal fees $600.
for hyper-v. M$ must be pinching themselves. Hyper-v may not be as good yet, but of VMware becomes money hungry, M$ could catch up.
Oz gvt will give back 50% of the tax to ordinary Aussies. Since there is no way businesses will absorb the other half, it leaves the compensation around 50% short.
So cut the political crap and just admit it will cost us to clean the air.
of processing power. It is useless, but if Apple sells it, it will be a hit.
Let us hope that AMD will produce a great processor and give intel a kick up the butt. If the processor is good enough, it will become popular.
Could it be that ms is getting close to have win 8 mobile ready? I can smell a "put our os on your hardware and we forget our patents"
Had a vision. Yes he did. Today we have standards. Files can be shared between different systems. if it had been to Apple or IBM, we would be buggered for sure.
Love or hate M$, the contribution is enormous. Balmer should retire ASAP. Give the job to that guy, you know... Linus T. That would be inovative!
The price to pay for brand name. Really it is like paying Louis Vuitton price for a suitcase or Dior for a perfume... Some just have too much money.
Telstra is obligated to on-sell its fiber services. I would hate to return to the old monopoly with a company as unscrupulous as Telstra.
Glad to see the EU providing competition to the US. I wonder how many patent quarrels this will generate.
Is over stepping again. There are many valid reasons why corporate pcs are locked and if google wants to gain ground in the corporate environment, it should look at ways to better fit in, not ways to bypass controls. The site is now on my black list.
Will the EU force Apple to offer the feature with multiple browsers???
Crapple would sue the pants off anyone using just the icon from their os or app, let alone the idea or technology. iHypocrite
It is a trojan.....
To remove malicious software. It releases an update for this purpose every month. Having said this, the corporate line for many organisations, IT or not, is denial of issues to start with, then comes the real solutions. Apple, Telstra, M$, Governments all do it.
Bring it on. I don't care if you love or hate M$ or Apple or Linux (what ever flavor). The more choices we will have in the tablet space the better. And if we can finally have a tablet that will run corporate applications and activeX, fantastic.
Before bagging M$, wait for the OS to come out, it may be real good... who knows.
Why are there so many poms living in OZ? As per the map, it belongs to England.
Windows 3, 95, 98 is a gui for dos, same a mac os is gui for unix. The other variant in mobile world domination is the current stronghold of Ms in the enterprise market. This will force many to use win7 phones and in 2030 it may well be the no 1 mobile. In th 80's, enterprise were running mainframes, not exactly what your average home User would have in his lounge room.
And to celebrate twenty five years, I finally removed the dual boot from my laptop and run 100% Linux. Long live windows, still one of the best around.
If employees were not constantly trying to abuse their employers networks, security would not have to be so tight.....
The postman is standing in your street, you waive your arms, he comes to your door, you let him in your house and he steals your wallet. Its not illegal because you invited him in?
Please, take as long as you want. Make 7 last as long as xp. 7 is a very good os, and with 6+ years support and sp's, I willow be very happy.
"We want to delete the rest of the payload data as soon as possible and will continue to work with the authorities to determine the best way forward."
Could this mean the authorities want to have a good look at the data before deleting it ..... or not?
if you consider that over 50% of Americans voted for George W Bush....... TWICE...
Ubuntu + Wine + w7 theme? If wine was running Windows apps at 100% capability it would be fantastic. Most businesses run MS office. Try running office on a tux machine and integrate with other apps like Trim EDRMS.
Also try getting the support needed for businesses in a non MS environment. I am not talking at the OS level but at the apps level.
Here is a little idea. Why don't we start looking at the car strictly as a tool. We only make it as powerful as it needs to be, so we don't need all the electronics to compensate for the over power and under skills? 60 bhp per tonne would be sufficient.
Parking assist, why? If a driver does not have the skills to park, maybe they should not be on the road.
All of a sudden we have a vehicle that is safer, cleaner and much cheaper. The only electronic that we need is a signal jamming device so imbeciles cannot use their mobile phone while driving. Another step closer to safety heaven.
There are studies in Germany that have shown that by removing road signs and traffic lights in towns, accidents decreased. This is because the driver HAS to concentrate on driving and road rules instead of having such an easy drive that the mind can wonder.
Increase education and decrease horsepower. Technology is not always the answer.
iSCSI across 10GB ethernet is performant, affordable, proven and routable.
If 10GB is too expensive (still cheaper than FC), 1GB NICs with offload engines are already part of most server architecture and are not the financial burden they once were.
Or crippled enough to do so little that they can only do it well???
"Our tablet will be better than the iPad." A brick is better than an iPad!
But that is not the point. This type of device is not meant to be a tool, it is a toy, as such productivity and usefulness is secondary to the very nature of the object.
iPod is is prime example. There are many better mp3 players on the market, but it does not matter, it is still the toy to have.
So line up all you guys and try to compete against the mighty Apple, you stand no chance because you are fighting the war on the wrong front. You have to become more desirable than an Apple product, not more powerful, more useful, more efficient or more versatile.
It does not make any sense at all to put AV as a hardware solution, because it will not be a hardware solution in any case, it always be software that analyses code, even if it runs on dedicated chips and circuitry.
It does not make any sense to run the "hardware" AV on Mac or Tux machines since the vast majority of malware is written for Windows.
It does not make any sense for Intel to buy a security (term used loosely in this case) company like McAfee which is losing trust and popularity amongst IT professionals. McAfee has not produced an efficient bit of software in the past 5 years. Bloated, slow and extremely complicated to manage.
Unfortunately, the consumer will be paying for this acquisition through higher processor prices.
Long live ARM, long live AMD.
Dell was also deemed incapable of managing the Equalogic range when it purchased it. Guess what, it has managed very well indeed. EMC may want to consider that Dell will become a very strong adversary and maybe align itself much closer to Dell, just in case.
for fat cat councillors toys. No matter what country you live in it is the same, politicians are abusing the system for personal gains....
Paris because she would get Apple to pay for her iPad
for Linux to beat M$ in the market of mobile is to unite. But that is not likely to happen. The end user wants an OS that looks and feels the same, regardless of the brand or model or version and that is easy to use, even if it means an expensive device with only half the functionality it should have (sorry iPad, bit it is true, you should do so much more).
So create the United Stated of Tux, come up with a common frontend and beat both M$ and Apple on the tablet market.
