They perform packet inspection on HTTP headers, if they see a desktop browser user agent then it's naughty time for you.

Before I switched over to a sim only plan that included tethering I got around that limit by simply tunnelling the traffic through an SSH connection. It is pretty easy to bypass, use a VPN, tunnelled SSH etc.

Supposedly, IE11 will have webgl support. I think everyone else supporting it has shamed MS into finally implementing it.

Plus WebGL is pretty awesome.

You might have trouble then, all big international corporations do that. Amazon, Apple, Google, Starbucks, Microsoft, Yahoo etc.

So, you may find it somewhat troublesome if you're avoiding those companies if you want to say do a search for something on the net. And before you mention something like duckduckgo, they use bing.

The only way it will stop is if politicians grow some balls and legislate to not allow tax avoidance schemes like the ones these corporations have been using so far. But the reality is, the politicians won't.

Problem with that is that it can't open DOCX or ODF files.

MS are going to start losing the home users as stuff like Google Office and Libre Office become more polished and feature filled.

That's just tempting fate on Apples part. That said, this is all highly entertaining. If Apple hadn't done their little strop this wouldn't be all over the news sites in a Streisand like effect.

What I'm amazed at is that pretty no one uses javascript in PDF's... no one.

Yet everyone leaves it enabled by default, you'd think some companies and governments would disable it by default. Since disabling it mitigates almost every single exploit.

Actually, you're wrong on that. The Nexus One had a microsd slot.

A few reasons why I like a large amount of storage 1. I have more than 16GB of music. 2. Google Music isn't yet active in the UK like in the US (as in streaming from the cloud, but I understand this might be available next month) 3. Streaming music over a mobile network is very expensive, because it uses lots of data. So therefore isn't practical hence I need to store it on an sd card.

I might hold back and see if Google release a 32GB or 64GB Nexus 4. I'm still of the preference about screen size though, 4.3" is my sweet spot.

You're really early in the game, essentially you are still in what i'd consider the tutorial/introductory phase.

As for how far can guards see etc. You need to use runes you find (by using the heart) to upgrade your powers. (I'm on the pc, so pressing J brings up the screen for that)

Also, you get a little warning about guards seeing you by the little three bolts thing above their heads. It's at three they go into full alert and see you.

As long as you're crouched the guards won't hear you.

As to getting better, it gets better and better.

I feel like this game has been a long time coming, I love the style of it. Everything about it is pure class. It really does put to shame a LOT of what people consider AAA games.

I've been doing this for a while now with both DVD and Bluray. Buy film, copy onto media centre pc (or re-encode to save space).

Why bother with the hassle of creating accounts and drm when I can easily rip the film onto my media centre pc or just download it from a less than reputable place if I'm feeling extra lazy. Then I've got a easy to use front-end to all my media without having to dig through a bunch of dvd/bluray boxes.

The front end to which I refer is XBMC of course.

As to metro, I don't think I've ever heard them say anything negative about it. They have been very rightly vocal about MS limiting Windows 8 RT to IE only. Which is an awful, awful decision on MS' part.

If you need to find something the UI on the start screen is terrible since you have to scroll horizontally, the gigantic buttons waste vast amounts of screen space, the entire UI is designed for a touch screen rather than a mouse and keyboard.

Also, it plays into breaking the users train of thought. This is known as the doorway effect. (google this, it's quite interesting)

Say you're working on a document and you need to open something else, so you go to the start screen which covers the entire screen and you open a program you were wanting on a second monitor or side by side with the document. Only you've now forgotten what you were thinking of.

Sounds funny I know, but having something that doesn't cover what you were working on keeps it at the forefront of human memory. Ever walk through a doorway into a room and forgotten why you went in there in the first place? Same effect, the doorway acts as a "new thing, new memory" event just as the start screen does.

A note on Chrome, whilst you can download an app named Chrome on the iPhone. It isn't Chrome itself. It's merely a reskin of the Safari webkit engine. As Apple forbid browser engines other than their own.

Also the fast safari nitro javascript engine is limited to Safari only, so all those browser safari reskins on the appstore use a much slower js engine. Lovely eh? It's one of the reasons I stopped using an iPhone and switched to Android.

By the way, windows phone has the exact same limitation. You're stuck with IE. Lovely eh?

This right here.

Microsofts GFWL has been an absolute disaster after disaster. Their first incarnation required you to pay if you wanted to play online... on a pc. They have had endless missteps. Go into any pc gaming orientated forum or site and GFWL is treated as a joke.

I frequently see iphones, android phones and blackberry phones. Not once have I seen a win phone.

The UK is Europes biggest smartphone market, if MS want to make a dent anywhere it has to be here. Sad thing is their market share is decreasing, it went from 1 percent last year to 0.4 percent this year.

The only place in the big European countries it saw growth was Germany for some bizarre reason. (0.9 to 1.4 percent)
