Hear, hear. Ooooooh, shiny front end. What the back ends 17yrs out of date and ready to fall over? Doesn't matter cos we get a web ui.

Really gov it is pretty paralysed and some basic maintenance and remediation decisions aren't being made cos of digital paralysis.

It'll all end in tears.

Re: Slides don't surprise me

Not really. Soccer dad is only right about having school age children. Can't stand football.

Clearly I misunderstood the definition of 'stalked'. Oh well.

Re: Slides don't surprise me

Errr. Why would you go into a phone shop if you wanted to avoid a sales rep? Surely it's a natural thing for a salesman to aproach a customer and ask what they want. i've always found a quick 'no thanks just looking' a perfectly satisfactory response..

Anyway they p4u gave me an amazing deal on the boys firstsmartphone. A tenner a month for a Lumia. In and out in ten minutes a duration which the O2 girl had barely managed to access her computer and start trying to flog me an iPhone.

If you've got something to say, say it don't arse around changing one word at a time. Its not big and it's not clever.

OR

"It is Big and it is clever" There fixed it for you. See what I mean?

Re: Bin the SSADM, Waterfall, Prince etc., that's why these projects take so freaking long!

Erm. Universal Credit was developed using Agile. In fact it won several awards for it. The qiestion is whether or not Agile can cope with a huge project that's trying to compress multiple legacy platforms together.

Re: No second-hand games

The 14yo and tend to swap games backwards and forwards. If this works to block that then we'll be sharing a gamertag and only having one box instead of the five we currently have dotted around the house or moving to Sony. The decision willreally be driven by what consoles his mates have got but IF the worst case happens I'll be steering him away from XBox.

Well, it's down to Sony now. Decision time will come when both Sony and Microsotf clarify matters. I can't help feeling that this reveal has left more question unanswered than answered and, to be honest, something that looks like an Amstrad VCR from the early 90's doesn't float my boat.

Dissapointed.

Thanks but.....

Not that enlightened sadly. Just been bollocked at my mid year for not being as good at my new job as someone with twenty years experience, while the poor sod who gets to do the thing that I have 20 years of experience and multiple certifications in gets a similar bollocking for not being as good as me.

Lawyers pursue banned Xbox Live gamers

Not hitting the right people

The problem is that the justification for the ban is a breach of the TOU for XBox live but there's a disconnect between the person agreeing not to violate the TOU and punishment applied. Lets say that the xbox is owned by someone who hasn't agreed to the TOU but modded the console. Then an Xbox live enabled profile uses the console and the owner of the console now has abox that's been crippled due to TOU violations that he's not signed up to.

My eight year old has just lost a level 103 Viva Pinata profile (hey - it's important to him OK?)because his elder brother took the memory card round to his mates house for quick blast of illegal MW2. The 16yo is fine because his profile's been recovered, but the 8yo is screwed because I didn't let him sign up to Live.

Fact is you can't be punished for breaking a contract you haven't signed up to and that's what MS are doing. Now you can argue that there are terms that allow the removal of the signing functionality but MS didn't use those - they used the TOU of the XBox Live contract which is distnctly differnt to the console licensing

What they should have done is banned the profile thus linking the violation to teh person breaking the rules.- but that would have cost them a lot of money. On that basis this lawsuit has every chance of succeeding since persons who haven't violated the TOU have been damaged directly by MS actions.
