Low res screen

Again. Come on, Dell, you can do better than this. My Vostro 1520 has a 1440x900 screen. The equivalent model has 1366x768 only. If Lenovo can offer better res screens, why can't Dell?

WebOS...

...or Symbian! One of them would do. The new Symbian looks pretty shiny, and WebOS has plenty of potential.

Hmm...

"...users often don’t know how the add-on got there..."

I've seen a lot of users run the automatic Java update and click "next" until it's finished, ignoring the part about the Yahoo Toolbar. Or the same but when installing CCleaner or any other free application that wants to include a toolbar or browser install. So a lot of it is users choosing to be ignorant then complaining about the consequences, imo.

No sympathy.

He bought the dongle, he should've read the terms that came with it. It's not difficult to look at the network's website and look up roaming charges. Or call them. However, if he had bought it from an Orange shop and told them specifically he was going to use it in France, then they should've told him how much it would cost.

That said, I suspect there's a bit of intentional ignorance going on on his part and a bit of jobsworth-ing going on on Orange's part - but countered by their offer.

Drives, drives, drives...

I used to swear by Seagate drives. Was never really impressed with WD but they seemed to improve just as Seagate started to deteriorate. However, I was recently told by a friend in data recovery that current WD drives are a real pain to recover and have a mediocre recovery rate compared with Hitachi, Samsung, etc. And let's not even get into Maxtor drives...

Personally, I now only use Hitachi or Samsung drives with a preference for Hitachi. Or Samsung's now discontinued HD501LJ - excellent drive.

Short Memories!

The hard drives issue went class action last year. Crap Seagate drives.
