Or, indeed, why this obsession with aeroplanes? Why not attack a nice, unpatrolled, railway terminus or cathedral or bus station or ferry terminal? All these, and more, feature in terrorist attacks in the mad orient, yet no-one imagines it will happen in the dignified occident.
We have even had attacks on busses and stations and branches of Mcdonalds, and yet only airports get the drop-yer-trousers approach to security.
Bonkers.
I have an Xperia tablet from work. Connecting a Bluetooth keyboard kills thw WiFi dead.
Sony have /never/ replied to reports, emails, posts on their own forums or on farcebuk. I have tried to telephone both them and O2 and had no responses.
Buggerem. Sideways. With a rotating pineapple.
The thing that annoys me about Acronis and all the other "user friendly" systems is you can't find out what they do from any documentation. When you fire up and give a backup name do you need to include the date? will the next one ask you again, append to that one, make a delta, make a new one by auto-increment the first name? what? say you want to use a physical device for backups, does it have to always be there? can you move the backup set to another bigger drive in 2 years time? or does it have to do it.
Seems to me the only way to find out is to try it and waste a lot of time.
Where I work at $MEGACORP engineers are lower paid than managers or sales people.
I just spent a whole year sorting out an impossible system that some idiot sold. I got it working. All I got was my salary. The idiot got a huge bonus for selling it, despite that it cost us nearly twice as much to get working as we made on the sale. He got the bonus last year, and there is no way of taking it off him.
Two ideas:
* Engineers should not be lumbered with student loans. If the country needs engineers, the country should train them.
* Engineers pay should always be higher than the pay of people who merely sell things.
A girl I was at school at opened a card-index and telephone based version of this back in the 1960s. She laid on the hotel rooms and the champagne as part of her fee, and ended up convicted of 'procuring' or some such anti-pimping legislation. I do wonder if M-A charging a fee doesn't lay them open to the law in some countries.
... In the one that got taken apart.
I don't see why MS can't buy from multiple suppliers over time, or even at the same time. I am slightly dubious about some of these stripdowns - OK, CPU and wireless chips will be pretty much fixed, but there is no reason to suppose that things like SSDs, accelerometers, screens, other modular parts can't vary between production runs.
Can I plug in a USB peripheral? memory stick? share data with clients?
Can I use a USB cable to charge my phone? Headset?
Can I connect a bluetooth headset and make a phone call? or a 3.5mm headphone/mic & join a conference call?
Can I connect a video projector on a client site? with audio?
Any way to use cat5 internet connections? for customer sites that don't offer wifi?
No? not really a business device then.
