HP veep scrambles for exit as PC unit burns

bolts25

Bleeding for a long time

HP PC division has been bleeding for a long time. That is why HP merged the PC and the print division, hoping the good revenues and profits from printers would mask the dismal performance of the PC division.

HP is just reaping what it sows. It does not do any design, development or innovation any more. They just take designs off the shelf of the Chinese manufacturers. HP has been living off its reputation for years, but now it is catching up to them.

Be aware, there is no bottom. While HP continues to ignore its fundamental problems it will be a long, sad inevitable decline to Chapter 11.

Too bad; there are some good people there.

Former CEO John Sculley: Apple must adapt or die

bolts25

How would Sculley know?

Sculley worked a Pepsi. A commodity product in a two horse race. It was a mistake to hire him into Apple in the first instance; and that has been proven.

Just because he is a past failed CEO of Apple, why does anyone show the slightest interest in his opinions? He has demonstrated he has no idea how to run Apple - he made too many mistakes.

Why would his recommendations be any better now?

This article is a waste of pixels.

That will fix it: fire the sales force.

Another deeply considered decision from the Senior Exec team at HP.

Fire the Senior Exec team instead: no one would notice.

Oi, Apple, stick to phones, forget about TV - Time Warner CEO

He's scared. He knows it is the beginning of the end.

HP's Whitman promises 'more beautiful' PCs

More of the same .......

Innovation is NOT aping the leader. Do that and your product will cost much more than the leader, you will always come second at a lower price and you will slowly go out of business.

This seems to be the trajectory of HP at the moment. What a great company it used to be. Now it rarely designs anything (outsourced to Chinese PC manufacturers) and it hasn't made anything for a decade.

So today Meg thinks the answer is to copy the MacBook. Yesterday the answer was to copy the iPhone, and I am sure they have someone working on copying the iPad. How profound.

Where is the innovation?

The long and slow decline of what was once a great company. Fire the board and the senior management team. No one would notice.

CEO takes leave of Sensis

bolts25

To be expected

Has anyone tried to use the Yellow Pages ( a major Sensis product) to find a business? It is hopeless. You can even specify a post code to search and it still returns entries from all over the state.

I find google maps to be the best method of searching for a business.

If they can't even get that right, what hope have they got of doing anything new.

HP does it again !

Make sure it gets rid of any real talent so the crumbling mess called the "Executive Management Team" can carry on marking time while HP slowly decays into oblivion.

At least they are on track and remain consistent. Shouldn't be long now.

HP PC boss: I'm so loving being spun off

I guess the only option is to try to clean up the mess left by HP's CEO.

What a combination of idiots.

How is it that you can be the largest desktop vendor in the world and you can't make any money out of it? And why would a spin-off make any difference when you still have these duffers in charge.

A spin off is just the management saying "I give up" and then they distract the shareholders for a few years while they prepare their golden parachutes. Shareholders need to insist the management makes the PSG business successful.

If they can't make money out of the business get some new management.

Figure it out. It can't be that hard.
