Nokia launches Euro ANDROID invasion, quips: 'Microsoft knew what they were buying'

SIM

I haven't seen any analysis on the fact at least one of these new phones has dual SIM's. This is big thing in some countries and I don't think WinPho supports dual SIMs.

Android 'stands on Microsoft's shoulders', says MS lawyer

Headmaster

Is this a real ms lawyer

He says "So two different means of getting to the same end would be independently patentable,"

So, unless the source is exactly the same and compiled with the same tools nothing is going to infringe ms patents. Game over

More Welly

It's interesting to note that all the sites we I have read about this story always mention that if you need to do heavey lifting ie whatching HD vide etc etc imply that it's simply not possible unless you have an X86 chipset.

This is clearly tosh and poppy cock. At last years MWC Texas demoed HD played from their beagle board.

As for games I don't hear much mention of people complaining that they wish they had an x86 chip in their iphones because the 3d games are so rubbish.

Anyway, keep up the good work

Prior art?

My Dell workstation does this (or something similar). I know because the switch failed and the bloody thing beeped and turned the fans on to "emergency take off power" each time the box was switched on. In the end a helpful man in a call centre advised me to take the cover off and fiddle with the connector.

I look forward to my water cooled mobile

I see them trying to create some kind of super-smart phone and in the attempt owning the whole stack. Devices the size of a large smart phone, but with more cpu + accelerator grunt. Could really stir things up

Maybe goodnight and goodbye SymbianOS.

relevant is the key word here I think. Relevant consuming public presumably are Psion buyers :)

Jack Straw: let MPs use handhelds, laptops in Commons

Mark Burton

Funny Timing of story

I just happened to be watching Newsnight lastnight and during some story or other there was a clip of a government minister in the commons talking. In the row behind was a female MP (I couldn't see the face) tapping away on what looked like BlackBerry type thing. Odd, I thought they weren't allowed
