The One is great - I have one. I think it's a lack of marketing or awareness. Most people who've seen my handset didn't even know it existed (even though it's been around since April) and assume you either get an iPhone or an S4...

HTC woes prompts 'leave now' tweet from former staffer
Yeah, the HTC One is great- I have one. But people don't know it exists. There was much cooing over an S4 in the office recently, someone spotted my one and was impressed, but the simply hadn't heard of it. Every shop window has posters for the S4 or iPhone.
HTC need to up their marketing, but if they haven't got the money to do that then yeah, they'll struggle :(
Review: HTC One
Re: No microSD AGAIN
A common complaint but, I'm not sure these days it matters so much, and I think it's only likely to get more common.
I used to have an HTC Desire, before moving to a Galaxy Nexus (no SD, 16Gb storage) and you know what? I've been fine.
I simply don't need to cart that much stuff around. I've got space for all the apps I need including offline maps of a few countries for Sygic, a few albums for the odd occasion I'm travelling, and I've yet to run out of space.
I get that some people may travel more and want their entire music collection on the device but for a lot of people it won't matter.
The other problem with SD cards is they are a pain in some situations. Do you install an app internally or externally? If you move widgets to the sd card (like I did on my Desire when I ran out of space) then every time you plug into a PC and the SD card gets mounted, they all crash and vanish.
And no one ever complained the iPhone had no SD card...
I was one of the "deal breaker" people before I got my Nexus, but took a punt, and looking back I don't know what I was worried about :)

Windows Media Center EPG has SWITCHED OFF, wail Euro users
I'm suffering this too - last Sunday I started setting up MediaPortal again (which I used to use before it crashed a bit too often). So far so good asides from stuttery HD channels :(
Windows 7 may receive EPG data from the Freeview signal, but for those of us needing to use satellite it's sod all help.
Android Trojan taints US mobes, spews 500,000 texts A DAY
This has nothing to do with insecurities in the OS (because the user gets to see what permissions the app is requesting *before* installing - there's no evil hackery going on) and it's nothing to do with an insecure app-store, because the infected apps are obtained by visiting FreeCrapz.ru.cn or similar.

Brits swallow Google Nexus 4 supply 'in 30 minutes'
I'm still using my trust Galaxy Nexus - the Nexus 4 looks ok, but not significant enough for me to really want one. So luckily, I didn't have to get all pissy yesterday when it all went wrong. I know a couple of guys from work tried to buy one and failed miserably though.
I might pick one up in a few months, but the G'Nex is the first phone I've had for 12 months and not got bored of yet!

Lost profits?
For their "lost profits" argument to hold true, they'd have to prove everyone who bought a Samsung device would have gone out and bought the Apple equivalent instead (had the Samsung device not existed).
Proof? I've only just stepped into the fondleslab market with a Nexus 7, had that not appeared I would go without; I wouldn't have bought a sodding iPad.
