Smartwatch deathmatch: Rivals battle for total ARM DOMINATION

Malvernite

Alas to late to market..

I personally believe that there is a market for a smart watches, but has already been covered by Garmin and Suunto..

Smart watches really have a niche market for runners or other athletes, who love to know how far, fast the run. This being very niche market, but none the less large enough for Garmin and Suunto to make good money..

Personally when I run I love knowing the pace, what distance I have remaining in race, etc... I love ability of looking at map of where I run and where I speed or slowed down, etc..

But as a every day watch, I personally only want the time... I don't like looking like a knob with my sports watch in the pub, so I prefer a minimalistic watch.

To use watch for internet, phoning for me would be annoying or have a very large watch face to make it impractical for a every day use.. Currently my smart phone is very easy to carry in my pocket ( but not practical for runs to look at and use), but my Suunto Ambit watch does all I need in that department.

If apple had a watch to market years ago, which did exactly what the Suunto or Garmin did for the fitness market with a easy interface, then they would have loads of them (but still way less then the number of ipods, iphones they sell).

Possibly their problems is their products suck?

Used to love using Norton Ghost, when you could boot and image entire hard drive from boot up floppy... It was fast, brilliant and uncluttered, now look at how complicated it is to image a drive from newer versions of Norton Ghost... In end gave up as we used to buy for customers to backup drives, now use Acronis backing up software and never looked back..

Then used to use Norton Anti Virus, but boy that was a seemed so slow and inefficient and slows down PC... Now using ESet and again never looked back..

After being burnt twice from their software, have gone else where and not looked back!!!

Thumb Up

Very happy with OSx, nothing much major in this release but £14 isn't braking bank and a few features such as notifications I will use..

Like the idea that iOS and OSx are using similar features, app launcher (which was in previous release) I like..

have to duel boot due to Windows 7 for work (programming) and I find OSx more of a joy to use, very simple to navigate and use which is what I like for a OS.. Windows 7 I find the configuration such as network a pain in the butt compared to OSx, I find Mail and Safari meeting my expectations in OSx .. XP was nice and easy to navigate, I am really dreading what Windows 8 is going to be, why does a operating system have to reinvent itself every release?

All in all thumbs up to Apple for creating a simple to use operating system with a very power under belly..
