this kind of projects is what the Pi was made, a CHEAP computer for controlling . many do not remember that the original 8 bit processers were made to replace jumper board for logic. I commend you for your project and the results. might make a good article for your fellow geeks for a real world use of the Pi.

I personally have given up on the show,my crazy thoughts are that this will be last season .both the actors only have this season in contracts. and If past shows are cannon, this doctor will be evil and attack the previous doctor forhisregens.and for therecord i have watched this show since the 70s,

when I first saw this I thought he looked a bit evil,if they are following Who Lore, this Doctor turns evil, and
tried to take the extra regens from the 6th Doctor "Trial of the Time Lord", It could be Moffett is going to have this Doctor be dark,and evil. It is the kind of twist he would like.

well on Mythbusters they did polish a turd and got it quite shiny(ok two turds).but they underestimated how well windows 7 went over,reminds me of when coke came out with new coke.we still use windows xp on several machines at work. for what they are used for XP is more than enough of a OS.

well I have been building home computers since 1977,started out with the 6800 SWTP 8 bit computer, now have a 1 year old I7-940 computer with a nvidia 480(which I built from parts), this plays my games very well. and for the first time I really have had no need to upgrade.I will say it is a bit frustrating . I play 2 MMOs right now City of Heroes and SWTOR. I get very acceptable frame rates and such .and almost no lag. yes a NVIDIA 5 or 6 series would be "Nice" but now the computer is faster than I need.So why make it 3 to 5 x faster than I need? Now with a standalone game like Skyrim I might see the need for a small upgrade, but as I am now a older gamer. the reflexes have gone.not until some great app or game comes out I can see the average person not needing a "Uber" computer. And with the prices of the pre-builts so low , even my days of buying parts and building is coming to a end.

I wonder how good these would be for ray-tracing/CGI? Have seen other articles on using a bunch of MBs to make a "supercomputer" that is the backbone for home CGI work.the articles claimed about a 15X speed up due to sending out the frames to all the cpus at once.
Maybe the Professor could get with the graphic arts dept and run a few benchmarks
It is really a good project. well done.
