Am pretty sure that I read somewhere that flashing over your own O/S is going to be problematic (= possibly impossible), so those that are planning to buy the Windows version and reflash with Linux might want to check that it is even possible. This isn't just a tiny PC.

I can't wait for this to go through. Then when Microsoft sells a single Nokia X phone, all the FUD that MS has put up about Linux containing all this MS IP goes away because they've distributed the kernel under the gpl v2. I think.

Been gradually moving everything off 123-reg after a cock-up at their end meant I was told I had to pay twice to secure my domain and even though the knew I had already paid and they would refund the first payment some days after. I did get the refund and they gave me 2 years extra free on the domain, but I lost several hours of my time trying to deal with it. Still got a few domains with them, alas. I wish I'd had warning.

Plus this assumes that people take a blind bit of notice of permissions (and therefore would have refused the app based on the new permission) which I am of the believe isn't the case a lot of the time.

The sooner large government organisations ween themselves off Microsoft products the better. Sure, migrating to opensource would be a costly and painful process, but once done, you'd free from vendor lock-in forever.

I think the actors were for filming segments of footage for use during the tour, not presenting the tours themselves.

I did the old tour with two 9-yearolds and I can say they got very bored unfortunately. Definitely not suitable for the younger consumer. I enjoyed it but I did feel it was a little slow in places. There was an element of is/is not colossus viewable today which I found a bit confusing. In the end we saw it.

Changes definitely welcome, but being sensible about it is also welcome.

Personally, I think the reason PC sales have flat-lined is because the requirements of your average home user hasn't changed in years. Surfing, social networking, youtubing, etc... all fine on a 4+ year Laptop. If you are not too bothered about HD content, you can go back even further. The one I use is 2 years old and I have never had it using more than 50% CPU. (Granted it is using a quadcore i7)

... only really applies when the people in situ know what they are doing but they are just doing it too slowly. Now, if you have a bunch of fuckwits in-situ (no idea if that is the case) , then getting non-fuckwit people in can only help. Of course, if it has just been designed badly, then neither fuckwits nor non-fuckwits will be able to fix it.
